It is time for another week of What Wives Wear and I am so excited to share an extra special outfit with you this week. My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and my daughter wanted to find ME the perfect dress as a gift for my birthday. I guess she knows me well, right?! So, today I am sharing this beautiful dress that she picked out for me and how to style it for late summer. You’ll be seeing this dress again next month, when I have a chance to style it for the fall!
So, if you follow me on Instagram (follow me by clicking HERE), you saw that on my birthday we headed to Forever 21 to let her pick out a special birthday dress for me. After looking at EVERY rack in the store, she finally found this lace dress! Here we are in the dressing room and I am trying it on!
This is such a fun dress, I have to admit my daughter has good taste! Well… most of the time. 😉 She’s only 5, so she is still figuring her style sense out.
Everyone seems to be stacking necklaces these days, so this was my first attempt at it. I went with my simple gold monogrammed necklace and a chunkier flower necklace. I really think the two go nicely together and they go nicely with the dress.
This dress came with this thin tan belt, but I could see myself trying it with a thicker belt, a belt in a bold color or even without a belt. There is so much I can do with this dress!
Here is a side view, I went with gold and coral accessories with the dress. I think next I will try pairing it with gold/mint or gold/white in the Spring.
I decided to wear my coral wristlet from Coach with this dress. Brian got me this wristlet a couple of years ago and I have gotten a lot of compliments on it.
Tassel bracelets are still really in these days, the gold chain one I am wearing here with a coral tassel is one of my favorite bracelets. I really want to get a few other colors eventually or a leather tassel necklace. I have seen the tassels sold at Hobby Lobby and I may even try to do a little DIY tassel craft this Fall if I have time!
I also scored these adorable jeweled wedges in coral at Charming Charlie for FREE! I got a rewards coupon for $5 and a birthday coupon for another $5 and their sandals were all marked at $10 (50% off most of them!) and so in my basket these went!
And, of course I have Essie’s Sunday Funday on, which is a coral colored polish.
Last Saturday I got my hair chopped! It is more noticeable when it is straight, but I got 2″ cut off! I really miss my long hair, but it is a lot healthier and thicker now! The ends were getting really thin and scraggly! Not cool! I also went with some lo-lights to make my hair look less blonde and more in tune with fall! Apparently when I went in, she said I hadn’t cut my hair the last two times… I usually go every 8 weeks, but with vacations and everything it had been 11 weeks!
Here is a before and after… I always love doing these 🙂
