Becky at Choose Happy has been running a fun link up party called Currently. I join Becky for her Currently link up series once a month. I thought it would be a fun way to update y’all on my life in a light way through photos and blurbs of text.
Currently…
Latest Favorite Beauty Product
I think it is fun to share my latest favorite beauty product here on my Currently post and right now it is Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer Water! I got a tiny bottle of this for Christmas to try it out and WOW. It is AH-mazing! I love to keep it in the refrigerator and I spray it on my face in the morning before I apply my foundation. Then, sometimes I will spray it on my face again after I apply all my makeup and it helps set it for hours!!

Invisalign Update
Well, I went and got my impressions made for my Invisalign and I have a date for when I go in to have them fitted and for when I’ll start wearing them- February 11th! I am a little nervous as to how it’ll feel to have this retainer in my mouth almost 24/7 and how its going to work with drinks… I can only have it out of my mouth so many hours a day and I can only leave them in when I drink water. If I drink anything else (especially hot drinks) I need to take them out. SO, maybe this will be good… I may just start drinking water so it’ll be easier! ha! No more sipping hot tea all day! Boo! I will be in these for a YEAR and then I’ll have a temporary retainer that I have to wear for 6 months, because that is when your teeth shift the most after braces. After that, I’ll have a life-time nightly retainer. Whew. I hope I can do this… then, I’ll be going in for whitening and the veneers on my front teeth. Such a long process, but… I’ll be happy when it is over!
Exercise
Well, not a whole lot to report on exercise since the kids were off for 2 weeks from school and I had a hard time getting all of my workouts in. Then, after they went back to school, I came down with the stomach flu and then Autumn did. SO, I am trying to get back into working out this week. I think next week I am going to finally start Jillian Level 3 (the last level). And, I have to say… Who else thinks Natalie is HILARIOUS in 30 Day Shred? Lol! Her facial expressions crack me up… and how Jillian caught her ‘cheating’ in Level 2. Maybe I have just done the DVD too many times, but it is fun that they didn’t edit her personality out of the video! I even decided to stalk her find out more about her on the web and I was surprised to read that she started working out to overcome her asthma. Both my kids have asthma, so I found that really inspiring!
Next week my spring half marathon training will start and one of my goals this month is to find a marathon I want to run in 2017. I really want to take some time to do some research on which marathon I want to run and also I want to find a training coach and team to help me get through it. I know I’ve ran eight half marathons, but I am really nervous about running a full. And, it looks like training is 18 weeks out… so, I think this year I will figure out a game plan and next year I will actually run it. Which, next year will be my LAST (eek) year in my 30’s, so how FUN will it be to knock it out with a full marathon?!!
I also still need to get new running shoes… agh. I probably should get some before I start my half training!
Reading
Goodreads recently sent me a list of all of the books I read in 2015! I finished 16 books total! Not a record for me, but I really enjoyed all of these books that I read last year. I try to read at least 1-2 books a month.
And, I recently finished these two books:
Winter Street by Elin Hildebrand – I really enjoyed this light and fluffy book, especially since I finished it the week of Christmas. This is about a family that comes together at their B&B hotel during the holidays and there is lots of holiday charm and… drama! The ending was left wide open and I can’t wait to read the second book next Christmas! I also really enjoyed this book, because the parents are divorced yet it portrayed their relationship with each other and with their kids with humor and honesty. Being remarried, I always enjoy reading about other divorced families and how they handle the holidays… even if it is fiction 🙂
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah – This book is one you’ll want to add to your to read list for 2016! I normally only read while I run on the treadmill, but I was up till midnight several nights as I was so intrigued by it! It is about two sisters and how they both handle a harsh war (WWII) in France. One sister is a mother and her best friend (and neighbor) is a jew. The other younger sister is single and wild, yet matures throughout the war. Both sisters help the other war victims and in small (and great) ways helped to end the war little by little their acts of bravery. It is definitely a tear-jerker. I have read two other books by Kristin Hannah, but this was by far the best book I’ve read by her.
Well, that is all I have today. Be sure to join Becky in this link up series sometime, it is a lot of fun!
