Covergirl Blast Product Review

Last week I received my Cover Girl blast package in the mail from Jennifer’s blog giveaway. She sent me two $2.00 off coupons, a ShadowBlast eye shadow and ShineBlast lip gloss to try out. Jennifer mailed three of these packages out because she is a member of Bzz Agent, which is a site that mails you free product samples that you try out and then you Bzz (spread the word) about them. Thank you Jennifer for mailing me the actual products to test out.

Ok, I am going to be honest here… first, the bad.

I did not like the Covergirl Shadowblast eye shadow at all… and, this was the product that I was the most excited about! It wasn’t the color, I loved the smokey silver color… but, it was the product itself. First off, the second day I used it, the entire stick of eyeshadow fell out of the tube ON BOTH SIDES! Yes, it came unstuck and I had to put it back in the tube and, sure, it works, but on the second day? And, no, Autumn did not have her hands on it prior to me using it. 😉 So, I did stick it back into the tube on both sides, but I have to be careful because it is loose. Now, I know it was mailed two times, but still…

I also did not like it because it doesn’t dry… I usually use a special foundation on my eye lid and on my eyebrow bone so that my eyeshadow lasts all day and to prevent creasing. I have never had a problem with creasing, but I did get this with the eye shadow after only an hour! Also, the darker color was not dark enough to really show up over the lighter color. And, the darker color applicator was difficult in my opinion to use because it was a thick slanty shape, I’d rather it be smaller like an eye liner. It was just hard for me to apply and I even poked myself in the eye with it. haha! The product does not dry and isn’t smooth so if I touched my eyes I got the eye shadow on my hands. I will say that I did like how it blended and how it looked the first hour, after that, no go.

Ok, now I feel bad but I felt I needed to be honest… but, Jennifer, I will say that… I LOVE the lip gloss!! It stays on for a really long time, I love the light pink color that you sent me and… yes, I will be wearing it quite often! Thank you! The scent is a bit sweet, but that is ok, I still like it!
