When I was a little girl my Mom had my brother and I do shrinky dinks one time and it was so much fun. I saw a package of them at Michaels when I was on maternity leave with Autumn and I finally got around to doing them with the kids last weekend. Basically, you color on white sheets of plastic coated paper, cut them out and bake them and they shrivel up and harden. So, so exciting.
Here is Nathan coloring his sheet of paper
Autumn loves to color, especially when she can color Shrinky Dinks!
Autumn still coloring
Here are all of our cute drawings cut out and ready for the hot oven
The shrinky dinks are so neat to watch… put them in the oven and within 1 minute they shrivel up to 1/3 the size. Nathan really enjoyed watching.
Here are Nathan and Auttie’s finished dinks
A really sad looking jet and some clouds (Mommy’s creation for Nathan!)
Autumn’s dinks. Autumn is Dora crazy right now. Really, what is so great about Dora? I will never understand it. Gotta love the Dora face I drew. Its really sad looking, too. And, that is a flower not a bunch of balloons. Seriously, I have the drawing skills of a 1st grader.
Autumn is guarding her dinks from Big Bro who thinks they all belong to him. KIDS!!!!
