I wanted to share my 2011 reading list. I read 10.5 books last year! This is great for me, because since I have had my kids, I really haven’t taken the time to read.
I am hoping to read 24 books in 2012, this includes The Bible (Once a Day).
Here is my reading list from last year (at bottom of post)… I finally finished Pillars of the Earth, which is a REALLY, REALLY long read. It is such a good book though, and I hope to find time to read the second book World Without End. I did watch the mini series to Pillars of the Earth and really enjoyed it.
Also, on my list was some self help books… Getting Past Your Breakup helped me a lot during the beginning stages of my separation from J. The Gifts of Imperfection, was just OK for me, although a lot will say otherwise.
Water for Elephants I read because everyone at my work was reading it, and I really enjoyed the book. Not as happy with the movie, with how they moved around the timeline and changed some of the characters rolls but it was OK.
LOVEDLOVEDLOVED The Hunger Games. I will say that The Hunger Game series was my absolute favorite read last year. The first book was my favorite of all three, but all three were GREAT reads. I cannot wait until it comes to film, the trailer looked amazing.
The Sookie Stackhouse series is great, but I watched the first season of Trueblood (which goes with the first Sookie Stackhouse book) and it really surprises me that Trueblood is SO much better than the books. The book are an ok read, but WOW Alan Ball does a great job at intensifying the characters, the feelings, the storyline and just everything in Trueblood. I am starting to watch Trueblood season 2, and again its great! I still plan to read all 11? Sookie Stackhouse books.
In 2012 I already have a list of books I REALLY want to read. First, I need to finish the Sookie Stackhouse books. Then, The Help and Divergent are on my list. Maybe a self help book about raising children in a divorce (any recommendations?). Also, maybe the 2nd Pillars book.
