I used to collect trolls in my younger teens and every time St. Patrick’s day gets near I pull out Leprechaun Nickel. Last year, my kids really took an interest in him and I came up with our very first St. Pat’s Scavenger hunt. This year, I wanted to make it a little more special, so I decided to have a special breakfast with Leprechaun Nickel before the start of the scavenger hunt.
It was really fun planning a Leprechaun breakfast and I found a lot of ideas on Pinterest and at the store. I am happy that it was somewhat healthy with a Leprechaun face made out of fruit, but then of course the sweets are always present for an extra special breakfast.
Special green milk in glass soda bottles
Brian found a Limited Edition Lucky Charms cereal with Green Clovers at Dierbergs. Of course, he had to check out again to get it… but, it was such a perfect touch!
And, of course Dunkin Donuts had St. Patty’s donuts (Krispy Kreme did not, boo!).
Brian was such a sweetie and made two Leprechaun faces out of fruit for me while I ran around the house getting the scavenger hunt together. And, I am sure he did a better job than I would have done! The fruit platter includes green apples, green fruit roll up, strawberries, bananas, chocolate chips, oranges and strawberries. Yum! If it hadn’t taken him so long, I would have asked him to make me one!! Oh, what we do for the kids. 🙂
Sweet smiles all around when they found their special Leprechaun breakfast!
Autumn trying her green milk.
Since I took SO many photos, the Scavenger Hunt will be up next in its own post. 🙂
