Can you believe it? It is Week TWO of the challenge and I am still working it! If you are new, the 30×30 Challenge is where you select 30 items from your closet (accessories, jewelry, scarves etc. don’t count) and you mix your clothes into 30 different outfits for 30 days. If you want to see my 30 items, click here and Week One here.
Kelly from Modern Camelot is hosting this challenge and you can visit her 30×30 Challenge page to read all about what the challenge is about. Aubrey over from Dreaming About Someday is also helping out with the challenge this time around.
So, what did I learn from Week Two?????????????
1. Week Two is still pretty easy… this time around I am planning out my outfits a week ahead, so I am not scratching my head in the morning on what I should wear.
2. I love my chambray shirt under EVERYTHING.
3. Jewelry and accessories really make an outfit. For instance, the clover bracelet in red that I am wearing on Day Eleven. It really pops out against the green.
4. Day Twelve was my most adventerous outfit, because I wore a silk shirt OVER a full length dress. I wanted to just show the skirt part of the dress, but the collar of the dress still showed over the silk shirt and the cardi I layered on top of the silk shirt. Result? Awesome new outfit!
5. I love buying a new jacket each season. I was at the Banana Republic Outlet and fell in LOVE with the quilted jacket in navy on Day Eight. I have gotten SO many compliments on this jacket.
Day Seven
Day Seven was a casual day at work, so I got to pull out the jeans. I purchased this dolled up grey sweatshirt from ON with jewels around the collar. I wore a chambray shirt underneath to add a little warmth (it is COLD in my work!) and to fancy up the collar area even more. I love wearing chambray under EVERYTHING this fall! I wore my Express jeans with ON pom pom flats and simple silver jewelry (big silver hoops, silver Movado watch and my silver sapphire ring). I also straightened my hair, which I haven’t done in awhile… I love my hair straight! If I didn’t run and get so sweaty every day, I would take the time to straighten it every morning!
Day Eight
Day 8 was a mad rush out the door, too… so, I put my hair up in my H&M donut, which I love! I thought I would share my new quilted coat from Banana Republic Outlet today. I am not counting coats in my 30 items, but this will be the only time you’ll see it. I really love pairing this mustard necklace (from Molly Suzanne) with purple and burgundy items in my closet! I also have my new booties on from TJ Maxx, but you can’t really see them in these pics.
Day Nine
On Day Nine I had scouting for food with Nathan, sooo… I didn’t really have a lot of ‘comfortable’ (as in t-shirt and jeans) options with this challenge. I decided to wear my white/navy striped long sleeved shirt with my green skinnies and my Gap booties. This outfit was really comfortable and I loved how everything looked together. My favorite photo is the first one where you see the stripes in my shirt, then the stripes on the fence and the diagonal stripes in the shadow of the fence. I told Brian he is starting to get this photography thing down with all the various stripes in that photo! ha! I also love the middle photo, because it shows the red lo lights that my hair stylist put in my hair.
Day Ten
On day Seven it was a mad scramble out the door since I get to work early so i can leave early to take Autumn to her dance class. I went pretty easy peasy today with a chambray shirt, khaki pants and a white and navy polka dotted scarf from Forever 21. I also have on my Charming Charlie flats in navy.
Day Eleven
On Day Eleven I wanted to dress nice for the Michael’s Pinterest blog party (can you tell I am a little ahead in this challenge?). I am in love with my latest Stitch fix shirt, this green shirt with the gold wings… so I paired it with Banana Republic trouser jeans with my knee high boots worn under the trousers. I also wore my emerald tassel necklace that I LOVE with a clover bracelet in red from Molly Suzanne. That little red clover really pops out, doesn’t it?
Day Twelve
On Day Twelve, I felt like I was fairly adventurous on remixing this particular outfit. I wore my full length dress from NY & Co. and threw my cream colored silk shirt from Express over it and then layered a cardi on top of that. I also wore my brown boots with this dress and wore a long gold chain necklace that I just purchased from Molly Suzanne’s online boutique. I really love how I wore this dress different, more as a skirt then as a dress AND now I want to try wearing it a chambray shirt over it.
So, like always… I would love to hear which outfits are your faves! Also, stay TUNED for Monday, because I plan to share my five items from my Stitch Fix box with you!
