We’ve all seen the posts going around blogland and social media about being honest and keeping things real. bloggers often get accused of posting only the parts of our lives we want to show off. We know we all have those less than bloggable moments in life. As readers, we all love reading those posts, but as writers we sometimes avoid spilling the dirt. In the spirit of keeping things real, we bring you 5 little confessions. Did you go 5 days without washing your hair? Did your clean laundry sit on your floor until it was time to wash again? Did you spend all weekend keeping up with the kardashians? Did you eat cake for breakfast? Dig up a few of your secrets and link up below.

5 Little Confessions from Carrie:
I have never had an eyebrow wax EVER. Is that weird? Am I the only one (besides girls with caterpillars and uni-brows)? I have always plucked my own eyebrows, but I’ve never gone and gotten a wax done. I have been wanting to go and get mine plucked though and perhaps I’ll get a pedi, too… since it seems weird to go and just get an eyebrow wax and that’s it. I sort of envy girls with awesome eyebrows and I wonder, do they use brow makeup? Do they just have an excellent wax job? I just don’t know… but, yeah… it’s weird, because I do wax somewhere else… (sorry, tmi) So, you would think I’d have gotten my eyebrows waxed, too! lol. Then, there is the whole eyebrow threading thing… I am just not sure about that either… hmmm?
A lot of people cringe when I tell them I read while I run. I own a mighty fine treadmill and I use it a lot. The weather here in St. Louis hasn’t been the best for my Spring half training and I refuse to pay gym fees. Well, I used to listen to music while I would run, but for the last couple of years I have read books on my Kindle. I usually read 1-2 books a month while I run on the dread mill. I know, isn’t that a lot? A lot of people ask me how I do it, but all I can say is that you get used to reading while you are running… it is a trained skill. Don’t worry, I won’t list it on my resume if I ever join the work force again. 😉
This last week we all went through the plague stomach flu (except for Brian) in our household. I was extra lucky, because I got sick on Saturday-Monday with a low fever and a runny nose. However, Monday night and into the morning I lost my cookies a couple of times and I felt like I was getting sicker and not better. It was brutal! Well, during the three days that my nose was running like a faucet, I stuck little buds of Kleenex up each of my nostrils. It is little wads of Kleenex that I fold up that fit into each nostril hole. I know, completely disgusting, right? Then, I change them out with new Kleenex buds once they fill up… with my wet nasty snot. Wow, I know… gross. The kids and Brian just shake their heads at me when they see me walking around the house with Kleenex hanging out of my nostrils. Honestly, I think I could develop this into a product to sell on the shelves. Boxes of Kleenex nose plugs next to the Sudafed. I could become a billionaire.
When I was in grade school, my Mom and I were having a race in our subdivision on our bikes. I remember that I couldn’t catch up to her and I fell sideways off my bike accidentally… I wasn’t too good without my training wheels yet. Well, when I fell I also chipped my two front teeth (permanent ones!). To this day, I have had them bonded and I cannot use any of the off the shelf whitening products, etc., which is a total bummer! I really want to get veneers or to go to a dentist sometime in the next few years to get them replaced and to get some overall whitening done. My current dentist can touch up the bonding, but it doesn’t last as long as I would like… ahh, my Mom always tells me she wishes I had broken my arm, because it would have heeled and I wouldn’t have had to worry about it anymore!
I love taking the kids to the park, working on a craft with them, cooking with them, snuggling on the couch with them while we watch a movie, getting together with other Moms/kiddos for play dates, board games and even just chitchatting with them. But, when they ask me to sit down on the floor to play ‘cars’ or ‘dolls’ with them or even house… I have to force myself to enjoy it. I think that is why I love having Autumn’s friend over for play dates… they both love to play Barbies, or house… they even like to give all of my old Strawberry Shortcake dolls baths in the sink… I can just watch them play and I feel they both enjoy it so much. 🙂
