This past weekend, we took our annual trip to the strawberry orchards. I always love dressing the kids cute when we go strawberry picking, but I also have to be practical with their outfits, because they always get them dirty! Since it had rained the night before, I thought this would be a perfect chance to try out a look that I have seen on Pinterest. Wellies and shorts!
So, what do you think? When I bought my pair of Hunter boots, I couldn’t for the life of me decide on a color. I almost went with navy, because I knew navy would go with a lot of things… but, I didn’t think navy would be ‘fun’ or would ‘pop’. Not that I like to stand out, but I do like a little color. Red was such a perfect Hunter boot color for strawberry picking! I also ran a ton on errands later that day and I got several compliments on my boots from total strangers… which totally made my day. I thought this outfit up in my head while I was trying to go to bed the night before strawberry picking and I was also wondering what would I wear for this weeks What Wives Wear. It is amazing what you’ll come up with in the wee hours of the night.
The white shirt I am wearing is a halter top, but I decided to tie the string in a bow in the front instead of around my neck, because I wanted to wear a necklace. I decided upon a blue bubble necklace to keep it simple. I also wore white hoop earrings.
This was the first time I had worn these shorts, which are red, white and blue! Wow, maybe I should wear these for the upcoming 4th of July holiday? I bought them from J Crew Outlet a few months ago, because as you probably already know… I love all things with anchors!
It is amazing how much you are outside when you are a sahm during the summer. I am starting to get a really nice tan and yikes, some tan lines already! Crazy. Last year this time, I was working on my fluorescent bulb tan in the cube farm I lived in at work.
I have a whole post with strawberry pictures arriving shortly, but here is photo of me while we were strawberry picking. My hair is being blown all over (yet, is still straight… thankfully, since it was humid as heck), shades on and my camera bag at my side.
And, this wouldn’t be an appropriate fashion post if I didn’t have a shot of my wellies, right? And, why not add a basket of red strawberries next to them… ahh.
