We are almost in the HOT days of August… which is also my birthday month, might I add. 🙂 I wanted to share this comfortable yet chic outfit I wore last week to the zoo with my family (thanks, Mom for taking my photos and giving BriBri a break this week!). Everyone talks about having the PERFECT white tee, but I also think having the perfect white tank is also important. A cute little white tank top can look nice with colored or patterned shorts or skirt, ankle pants, a maxi skirt, distressed jeans, etc. And, I am not talking about just a generic white tank top you’d wear at the gym, there are much cuter ones out these days with some ruffles on top, some cute little buttons (the one I am wearing has both of these).
I kept this outfit really simple when it came to accessories. I wore all solid gold (some with a little bling) accessories with this outfit to make the melon color in my shorts pop. I really love these melon colored shorts, I have gotten so many compliments on them every time I wear them!
The necklace I am wearing is from Victoria Secret and it was FREE. When I purchased two swim suits there earlier this summer, I had spent enough to get 2 free gifts and I decided upon this ‘Wings’ bling choker necklace and a bottom bikini piece. It was a pretty good deal! This necklace is so fun, the wings have little mini faux diamonds and the length of the necklace can be adjusted by the little round choker piece. So, I can adjust the wings on the necklace to hang down lower or up higher…
I didn’t want to wear a big chunky necklace to the zoo, so this necklace was PERFECT. It is really light weight yet the little bling, bling on the wings makes it pop against my white shirt.
Then, for my shoes I wore these gold flip flops… some flip flops are great for walking in and some are NOT. These flip flops I wore all day at the zoo and my feet did not get sore. I am wearing a coral Essie polish on my toes called Sunday Funday.
We got to the St. Louis Zoo super early, we love to beat the crowds and it was a nice cool summer day, so we knew the zoo would be CROWDED later. We are zoo members, but the zoo parking lot always fills up by NOON and then you have to walk pretty far if you park on the street.
Sorry for the roots! I don’t have a hair appointment for a couple of weeks, sometimes it is hard for me to fit in hair appointments during the summer… we are so busy! I think by the time I go back in August, I will just go ahead and get a Fall hairdo… my hair is a natural ash brown and I think I may go closer to that color with a hint of red. Not sure yet about the red, though! I do think I am tired of the blonde for now, though!! Are any of you thinking of changing your color up for the fall?
Here is a break down of what I am wearing:

Melon Shorts – Old Navy
Gold Flip Flops – Old Navy

This week Lura showed us two looks.
We picked her second look because it’s casual & fun
Cutoffs and cowboy boots. This is a trend that we love.
Lura kept it simple with a striped tee.
Her monogrammed necklace was the perfect accessory.
Nora was the second pick and she looked fabulous.
Nora is sharing her gold jacket with black harem pants.
She is also wearing a black top.
Her gold jewelry definitely compliments the outfit.
