Ladies, I can’t express how excited I am to share today’s post with you! A few weeks ago, eShakti contacted me and asked for me to select a dress off of their site to review on my blog. I have heard of eShakti and have seen several other bloggers speak highly of them. The special thing about eShakti is that your dress is made in your size, using your exact measurements! Sure, I had to get the tape measure out, but it was worth it to get a dress that fits me like a glove.
Visit their website for more info and you can follow eShakti on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
I had a hard time deciding on a dress from eShakti… my main requirement was that I could wear it to a December wedding. My daughter is going to be a flower girl in a wedding this winter and I wanted to use this dress for the special occasion. I also wanted a dress that I wouldn’t wear one time to a wedding, but that I could wear when going out to some of the trendier restaurants that my husband and I visit occasionally. I could also see this dress suitable for going to see a musical. I would probably not wear this dress to church or to dinner at a casual place.
I really love how you can accessorize a black dress such as this one. I wanted to find a main color for all of my accessories and I found it when I saw this beautiful necklace at J. Crew Outlet. The necklace has berry and navy colored stones in it. I was hesitant in adding a necklace to this dress, because the neckline is high and the bows really add a lot of visual interest. But, when I saw this necklace, I knew it would add a beautiful pop of color to this otherwise all black dress.
I really think the right necklace can light up your face and make you glow! I feel that way when I wear this necklace with this adorable black dress.
This is seriously how I felt after I saw how wonderfully all of the accessories and the berry and navy hues went with this dress. I thought you all would enjoy a candid photo, since usually all of mine are staged! haha!
I also found this snake skin belt in berry at J. Crew Outlet and was hesitant about purchasing it. I wasn’t sure if the snake skin would go with the rest of the dress. But, it is really subtle and I actually love the texture it adds to an outfit with no texture otherwise! I purchased the clutch from Charming Charlie along with a couple new bracelets, since I am lacking in arm candy. Don’t worry, I had a $10 off coupon and also got a $10 off $10 purchase coupon to use the next time I visit Charming Charlie. Oh, do they take care of me there. 🙂
I really don’t have a lot of clutches in fun colors… I guess I am lacking in clutches AND arm candy. Sigh… I guess that is why I really consider myself a DIY/craft blogger over fashion. I have a berry clutch now, though… so, you may be seeing it a lot more!
Ok, so shoot me (well, not really!), but… I love Naturalizer shoes. I just do. I got these adorable quilted leather heels (with BOWS!!) over a year ago for a new suit I purchased at Express. I love these heels… Now, to share a secret with you… I used to work in Corporate-ville and wore heels all the time. I stay at home now and don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten how to walk in heels or anything like that… ’cause, walking in heels is like riding a bicycle, you never forget. BUT, do not attempt to take outfit photos in wet grass with heels on. You’ll sink! At least, that is what I did! I would have moved to a different area in the yard (like the patio or the stepping stones), BUT the light was only good in this area of the yard. SO, just imagine I am wearing heels, even though you can’t really see them. Good light wins, so sinking heels it was.

I am really in love with this dress from eShakti and will keep them in mind next time I need to find a special occasion dress, or when I am just dress shopping in general.
