So, to celebrate that all of the cookie money is in, deposits were made and rewards ordered… and, I am OFFICIALLY done with cookies (except for handing out the rewards)… AND, I didn’t screw anything up as girl scout cookie manger (WHEW!)… I thought I’d share some photos from World Thinking Day, which was a really neat night where Autumn learned about different countries. Each troop did a different country and the girls got to learn a little about the country, do a craft, eat a food, play a game and receive a swap.
Autumn’s troop did Ireland and gave out Lucky Charms in little cups and you’ll also see the swaps on the table. When I was in girl scouts they didn’t do swaps in my troop, but they are a little pin with something on it that reminds the girl of that activity. Also, the girls can trade the swaps with other girl scouts at events. Autumn made a hat for her swaps at her last meeting, before that I was keeping them on her vest.
Tossing gold coins for the game
The girls being silly, posing with their Leprechaun hats, etc.
Learning about Jamaica
They got to do a really neat craft for Jamaica. They took those little bingo stamps and got to stamp colors onto plates, then they added feet and a head to make a turtle.
Autumn and her sea turtle
All of the girls and their turtles
At Greece they got to try Greek yogurt! Autumn just LOVES yogurt, so she was all over this… except, I usually add strawberries and blueberries to hers.
In Spain they got to enjoy hot cocoa and churros! They even let the moms have some! YUM!!!
They also did a fan craft. Autumn had to make several more fans once we got home.
The kids have had SO many scouting activities, that I haven’t had time to blog about them all. I try to share a little bit about our family life each Friday and I thought the World Thinking Day was too cute not to share. So, now that I have that wrapped up… are you ready for the Meal Plan??? Week 52, can you believe it?
