Well, this makes month FIVE of Ipsy for me! And, I am still loving it… although, the other subscription services out there are SO tempting… however, I am sticking to just Ipsy for right now.
If you haven’t heard about Ipsy before, it is a mail subscription that sends you a new makeup pouch each month along with 5 products to sample. And, the kicker? It is ONLY $10 a month! It is also fun to see what others get, because not everyone gets the same products… you fill out a questionnaire and they base your products off of your answers. Sweet! If you’re interested, you can sign up under me, by clicking HERE and I’ll earn some points to by myself extra products. Thanks!
So are you ready to hear what I received in my Ipsy bag?
Pandora’s Makeup Box – Pink Carnation Blush (Peachy Pink)
The last blush I received through Ipsy was perfect, so I was excited to receive another blush through them. I didn’t like this blush as much as the other blush I received, which I wear almost everyday (ModelCo BLUSH Cheek Powder is Cosmopolitan). This blush is a little brighter and when I put it on, I have to rub a little off so that the color isn’t too intense. It looks pretty good after I blend it in a little and I will definitely be using it. I really liked the little cardboard box it came in.
I would rate it 3/5 stars.
theBalm Cosmetics – NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single – Fit (Shimmering Copper)
I have gotten a few eye shadows lately from Ipsy and would rather receive something I haven’t been shipped yet… like nail polish! I was sent a small tube of mascara a few months back, so even a new tube of mascara would be great! However, I really did like this eyeshadow and the color will work with a lot of my other eyeshadow shades. It came in a little box that is magnetic, so it is fun to open and close (plus, the whole NUDE Dude theme is hilarious).
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
MicaBeauty – Eye Primer
This product couldn’t have come at a better time, I had just run out of my Urban Decay primer potion sample kit and was about to buy more… however, my Ipsy bag arrived and in it was this lovely Eye Primer. I would say it is a nice comparison to the Urban Decay… my eye shadow does stay put and I only get a few creases near the end of the day, but I can use my applicator to smudge them out and I am good the rest of the day. This does come on a little thicker then the Urban Decay, but it is also less messy since you don’t squirt it out. I will gladly be using this entire product up, which I can’t say about all of my Ipsy products. A lot of people that reviewed it mentioned that they tried it as a concealer and I am interested in trying that out next.
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
Mullein @ Sparrow – Mini Lip & Cheek Tint
This product was just meh… it didn’t really stain my lips, it pretty much looked like a clear lip gloss… except, it wasn’t very thick or glossy and didn’t last long. I am going to really have to force myself to use this one up. I may try it on my cheeks, but it will definitely be a day when I don’t need to leave the house as I’m afraid it won’t give my cheeks much color and I’ll land up having greasy cheeks since it is more of a lip gloss texture.
I would rate it 1/5 stars.
Elizabeth Arden – Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick in Red Door Red
I was the most excited about this product in my Ipsy bag, because its a full size Elizabeth Arden lipstick and I have been wanting a red lipstick! Also, I always look at the reviews and there weren’t as many for this lipstick, which means not many people got it in their Ipsy bag… I totally lucked out! This is a pretty intense red, but I have been wanting a lip color that will stand out for nights out or when I want to add a little red to my outfit! This lipstick in long lasting, too… I can put it on in the morning and it is still on my lips by the end of the day!
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
I know I say this each month, but the bag they sent this month is truly my favorite so far!
I am really enjoying Ipsy and I know I keep saying I want to try a different subscription service each month… but, I am really wondering if I am going to be able to talk myself out of Ipsy after I’ve been seeing that pink bubble wrap package in my mailbox for 12 months!!
