My oldest is turning 9 on Sunday… I am not sure how this is happening, but in another 9 years he will be 18 and starting college soon. It is so unreal how fast time goes by and I don’t like it! :,,,,,( We are doing a simple family dinner and present opening on Sunday, but last Saturday we had his class party. I let the kids have a class party every other year and it has worked out well. Nathan chose Pole Position, which is an indoor racing place where the kids even get to wear helmets!
The kids got a little container full of quarters at the beginning of the party and they got to play video games.
Me and my little racer.
Getting ready to race!!
They let Nathan go first, ahead of all of the other kids since it was his birthday!
His classmates in their cars.
Nathan with his birthday cookie cake
Blowing the candles out.
The kids going out for another race.
All of the kids got a certificate that told them what place they were in and how fast they went. Nathan won one of the two races. Go Nathan! They also got medals.
Nathan’s presents. At age 9, they start to get a lot less toys and more card with gift cards and cash in them. My baby is growing up…
I made up the kids goodie bags all from stuff from that store called Five Below. I filled a clear bag with a bouncy balloon, bouncy ball, fun straw and 4 pieces of candy. I then tied it on the top and stuck a sticker of a car on the bag.
The bouncy balls were a huge hit at the end of the party!
I was really pleased with Pole Position and would recommend it for anyone looking for a party for a kid that loves cars and racing. We had 9 kids and 2 of them did not race, because they got scared… SO, you may want to plan a party like this around kids that are at a good age for it. We were going to let Autumn race, but she was not tall enough… she still had fun, though!
And, if this post wasn’t enough of a cornucopia of stuff… I have a little review of a product to share with you!
As a mom, I feel tired and frazzled half of the time… my kids are at the ages where they are bickering constantly (sigh) and this has been a record year for asthma episodes with Autumn, so I’ve had a lot of nights with poor sleep… and, well… it is hard being a mom. Your job never stops, it really is 24/7. So, when the kind people at Happy Calm Focused (HCF) asked me if I wanted to try a bottle of their pills, I didn’t hesitate!
HCF is different from other brain supplements in that it supports naturally feeding your brain’s own neurotransmitters with what it is supposed to have- F&Q amino acids. This way you can stay at your best without crashing later in the day. HCF is all natural and contains no preservatives, chemicals or sweeteners.
HCF sent me this neat little pamphlet where 101 people have written why they love HCF. People from all kinds of backgrounds… it is an interesting read.
I have been enjoying my free sample, and I feel as though it helps me get through my busy days with the kids… especially those two hours right after school when homework and dinner need to be done and everyone is tired from the day.
NOW, time for the last two weeks Meal Plans!
I had to call out one of the recipes I made last week… Kendra from Joy In Our Home shared this easy omelette roll recipe. It is SO easy, but looks like its really difficult. I served it with cheese hash rounds and a little salsa. So delicious!
Meal Plan Week 59

This is always a pleaser and quick and easy. We have yet another kid activity this night!
