Last month I mentioned that I might stop subscribing to Ipsy. Well, I know I have a ton of products, BUT… I can’t give it up! This marks 12 months of Ipsy for me!
Next month I am going to add a section to my review post where I’ll review the products from my Ipsy bag from one year ago (December 2014). I want to share with you which products I actually used or which ones I need to toss!
I also decided to give Stitch Fix a whirl again! I will be sharing my Stitch Fix box this Monday along with blogger Lauren from Mom Home Guide! I plan to keep ONE item from my box each month, even if I love them all!
What is Ipsy?!
If you’ve never heard about Ipsy before, it is a mail subscription that sends you a new makeup pouch each month along with 5 products to sample. And, the kicker? It is ONLY $10 a month! It is also fun to see what others get, because not everyone gets the same products… you fill out a questionnaire and they base your products off of your answers. If you’re interested, you can sign up under me, by clicking HERE and I’ll earn some points to buy myself extra products. Thanks!
Now, let’s review my Ipsy bags!
November Ipsy
*This month I received TWO extra products, because I had earned enough points by reviewing products and referring friends to join Ipsy. I’ll talk more about them at the bottom of the post.
INSPR Beauty – Angle Liner Brush
I already have the Anastasia Dipbrow brush, but it is nice to have a second brush. This one works well and I used it with my new Pixi eyebrow shadows and it applied nicely!
I would rate it 4/5 stars. (4 stars since I already have one.)
Smashbox Cosmetics – Full Exposure Mascara
I am always excited to receive mascara from Ipsy! And, Smashbox is such a great product, this product alone made my bag worth it! I was really pleased with this mascara, it did lengthen and thicken my lashes without clumping.
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
ModelCo – Highlighting Trio
I wasn’t sure what this was when I first looked at it, but the luminizer highlights your cheekbones, the blush is for your cheeks (obviously) and the glowing bronzer helps contour and define. I looked on their website and it gave specific directions on where to apply each highlight on your face and I had A LOT of fun with it! I would wear this on a special evening out, but not for just a normal day… it takes a little extra time and I think the glossy look would be perfect for a night out. It blended really well, too!
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
Coolway – Stronghold Spray
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this hair spray and the outside of the bottle didn’t look appealing to me. Once I tried it on my hair, though I was really surprised how much I liked it! I usually use a light hold hair spray that isn’t sticky at all. This spray reminds me of my regular hair spray, except its in a pump and not a can. I will definitely use this all up!
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
tre’StiQue – Mini Matte Lip Crayon
I received an eye shadow crayon from this same company in the past and I didn’t really care for it… SO, I wasn’t sure how I would like the lip crayon. This lip crayon stays on for quite a long time! The color I received was just OK… it is a red, but a red that is pretty vibrant and that I’d reserve for a night out/LBD. They sent some people a brownish color and I wish I had received that or some sort of fall/berry color. Oh well! It slides on like butter, so I will say I would probably love this in another color.
I would rate it 3/5 stars.
And, here is how I look with these products on!
And, here is how I looked with ALL of these products… I’ve even used the hair spray in these photos!
The bag for this month was just ok. Its a space theme, which… I don’t really know what to do with. 🙂
These were the two products I received for FREE by earning points with Ipsy! Both of them are AWESOME!
The first one is Perfectly Posh Skindelicious Fresh, Creamy Milk Bamboo and Milk Thistle Body Butter. This stuff is AH-mazing! I usually use Lush products for my body butter, but I might actually like this better… it smells SO good, too! Oh, I love it!
Then, the other item I received for free was Pixi by Petra and it is the Brow Powder Trio. I have been really into brow products lately and this one is a must. There are three shades of brown and you can mix them to get the exact color you want. I used the lighter brown above and below my brow to highlight it and then I used the darkest color on my brow. I haven’t tried the medium color yet, nor have I mixed the colors. I have this product on my brows in the photo above.
And, YAY! I had enough points to receive THIS product! I have been hearing a lot about charcoal products lately and I’m really excited to try this charcoal mask.
