Every single item in this Ispy bag is the BOMB! Seriously. I think this one of the best Ipsy bags I’ve ever received, or close to it!
What is Ipsy?
If you’ve never heard about Ipsy before, it is a mail subscription that sends you a new makeup pouch each month along with 5 products to sample. And, the kicker? It is ONLY $10 a month! It is also fun to see what others get, because not everyone gets the same products… you fill out a questionnaire and they base your products off of your answers. Now, let’s review my Ipsy bag!
April Ipsy
Starlooks – Luxe Longwear Eye Pencil in Jet
This eye pencil has great pigment and just GLIDES on! You do need to use eye makeup remover to get it off, but it stays on all day! I do like to smudge it a bit after I line my eyes with it. This is my favorite black eyeshadow in my makeup box right now!
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
tarte cosmetics – LipSurgence Lip Creme in Wonder
I was excited to receive a tarte product, one of my favorite brands to receive from Ipsy! This applies easily and you can build on it to make the color brighter. It kind of reminds me of a coral color. I am wearing it in the photo above, but you can’t really see the color… I put it on over my chapstick. I will definitely wear this, it is a great Spring/Summer shade. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I have a couple of tubes with a similar shade right now, but this one has more of a lip gloss texture.
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
Trust Fund Beauty – That Glo Tho Face Highlighter AND
Luxie Beauty – Dreamcatcher Tapered Highlighter Brush 522
I have been really into highlighters for the face lately! When I saw that I received a face highlighter from Trust Fund, I was so excited! Ipsy has sent me a nail color from Trust Fund a couple of bags ago and I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed in it! I apply this highlighter on my forehead, cheek bones, above my lip line and on my chin. It has a little bit of glitter in it, but its not too noticeable (which I like!). Ipsy sent the Luxie highlighter brush to help blend it. I have one other Luxie brush from Ipsy (a blush brush) and these are good quality brushes! You’ll see in the photo above the products I’ve been using on my face lately before I do a dusting of powder (I also use my beauty blender to blend the Tinted Moisturizer).
I would rate BOTH products 5/5 stars.
Moroccainoil – Moroccainoil Treatment
My hair stylist uses Moroccainoil (a spray) on my hair when she straightens it and I know the products smell great. But, this Moroccainoil treatment has been a game changer for my hair! On days that I blow dry my hair, I put this oil on my hair before I style it with my curling iron or flat iron and my hair stays so soft and sleek all day. I am going to buy this product as soon as I run out of my other oil that I use!
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
And, if we look back from a YEAR ago… this is my April 2015 box and I’m sharing what I used and what I didn’t use…
Products from my April 2015 Box I’ve Kept or Tossed:
This Ipsy bag was pretty good, I use three of the five products regularly. These three are the Red Door Red lippy from Elizabeth Arden (its my only bright red lipstick!), the Pandora’s Makeup Box Blush in Pink Carnation and MicaBeauty Eye Primer. I was using the eye primer everyday, until Ipsy sent me another primer that I liked better. I also have some Urban Decay eye primer samples that I need to use… so, I am set on eye primer for a LONG while!
The two products that I just don’t use are the Mullein & Sparrow Mini Lip and Cheek Tint. It doesn’t last long on the lips and I’d just rather use something that I don’t have to reapply after 10 minutes. I haven’t even tried it on my cheeks. As for theBALM Cosmetics Nude Dude Eyeshadow Single, I just have SO many eye shadows in a nude color already… so, I kind of forgot about it! Otherwise, it is a nice shade!
