I was excited to receive my Ipsy bag this month, especially when I saw the different landmarks on the purple and white bag! I already know that I HAVE to take this envelope bag along with me on our Italy trip, there is even the leaning tower of Pisa on it and the colosseum! SO fun! As for the products… everything they sent me I have been using and enjoying! I’ve actually already used up the entire lip balm already (I’m a lip balm horder!).
What is Ipsy?
If you’ve never heard about Ipsy before, it is a mail subscription that sends you a new makeup pouch each month along with 5 products to sample. And, the kicker? It is ONLY $10 a month! It is also fun to see what others get, because not everyone gets the same products… you fill out a questionnaire and they base your products off of your answers. If you’re interested, you can sign up under me, by clicking HERE and I’ll earn some points to buy myself extra products. Thanks!
Now, let’s review my Ipsy bag!
May Ipsy
Pacifica – Natural Mineral Coconut Eyeshadow Trio
I am wearing this eye shadow trio in the photo above. It is a really nice eye shadow that looks natural with a hint of soft pinks and taupes. I was sent a single eye shadow from Pacifica in the past and their eye shadows have good pigment, just enough shine and they last all day (with a good eye primer!). I have also been sent a Pacifica lip color that I enjoy, too. I hope to receive more Pacifica products from Ipsy!
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
Hikari Cosmetics – Shimmer Bronzer
One of the squares on this bronzer was chipped off when I pulled this compact out of my Ipsy bag! 🙁 I was going to email them to get a replacement, but I was able to smooth it all back together since it is such a soft product. I have a bronzer from Pixi that I prefer over this one, but this one isn’t bad and adds a little more color in the summer. I’m wearing it in the photo above, but it is hard to see it in the photo. It is more noticeable in person and it does have a light shimmer.
I would rate it 3/5 stars.
X-Rated Mascara – Smashbox Cosmetics
This was hands down the best item in the box! I love that Ipsy includes Smashbox items in my bags from time to time. This mascara will be the perfect size for me to take along on our two vacations this summer. It’s a nice lengthening mascara that glides on smoothly!
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
Etat Libre d’Orange – Remarkable People Fragrance
This is the second perfume I have received in my Ipsy box and I really like it. I wouldn’t probably go back out and buy this one, but it is a perfect summer perfume. I am horrible at describing perfumes, so let me write what it says on their site: Looking to change up your scent? Look no further than this bright citrus fragrance that blends sparkling champagne, jasmine, cardamom, grapefruit and sandalwood for the ultimate spring-forward fragrance. They had me at champagne! 😉
I would rate it 3/5 stars.
The Organic Pharmacy – Antioxidant Lip Balm
I really, really liked this lip balm! I ran out of my usual lip balm that I use (it is still my favorite) and used this instead until it was used up. It really kept my lips moisturized and smooth with a few applications each day. This is the best lip balm I’ve received from Ipsy so far!
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
And, if we look back from a YEAR ago… this is my May 2015 box and I’m sharing what I used and what I didn’t use…
Products from my May 2015 Box I’ve Kept or Tossed:
I am still using some of the items in this Ipsy bag. My absolute favorite (and I’m almost out) is the Pixi Beauty Bronzer! I will be stocking up on this again when I run out… I use it almost every day!
The BellaPierre Waterproof Mineral Gel Eyeliner Pencil is still one of my favorite black eyeliners to grab for… it glides over any eyeshadow without hesitation! The Alterna Haircare Caviar CC Cream seemed to do great on my hair last year, but isn’t memorable as I had forgotten all about it. I really enjoyed the Peter Lamas Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser in this bag and had mentioned I’d love to try some of their other products… but, I never did. And, the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil I still need to use up… I keep forgetting about it!
One other thing I noticed in my post from last year (link is below) is that WOW… my teeth are a lot straighter now… SO thankful for Invisalign!
