I can’t believe I am on my NINETEENTH Ipsy bag. With everyone revealing their Sephora Play bags recently, I am really tempted to make the switch. However, I’ve been really pleased with Ipsy and I almost have enough points to buy a free product… so, I won’t be making a switch just yet. I love the graffiti on this months bag. I also really, really like that I’ve gotten mascara two bags in a row. My absolute FAVORITE item in this bag is the Fireball eyeshadow from Urban Decay… wow, it is SO unique! And, I can never get enough face masks- especially when they are facial sheets (something I’ve never tried before!).
What is Ipsy?
If you’ve never heard about Ipsy before, it is a mail subscription that sends you a new makeup pouch each month along with 5 products to sample. And, the kicker? It is ONLY $10 a month! It is also fun to see what others get, because not everyone gets the same products… you fill out a questionnaire and they base your products off of your answers. If you’re interested, you can sign up under me, by clicking HERE and I’ll earn some points to buy myself extra products. Thanks!
Now, let’s review my Ipsy bag!
June Ipsy
*I am wearing the Fireball eyeshadow, Hibiscus Blush AND Bombastic Mascara in the above photo.
Urban Decay – Eyeshadow in Fireball
This eye shadow is SO different. I have never ever had an eye shadow that changes colors! On the Ipsy tutorial it tells you to brush it all over your lid and then to brush some extra shadow in the center of your eye lid. The color seems to change color! I would say it is sort of a pink to pink/coral color. I just love it! Such a fun summer shade!!!
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
Seraphine Botanicals – Happy Hibiscus Blush
I really like this blush, because it is more of a natural color and sort of accents my summer tan (that I’m working on!). I also don’t already have a blush in this color, so that’s always a plus!
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
Doucce – Bombastic Lash Volumizer Mascara
Yay! Another mascara (I received one last month, too!)… I would say this mascara is pretty nice. The wand is a little different, but not bad. This will be great to take along on my two vacations that I have coming up. It’s not my favorite mascara, but it does a decent job.
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
Patchology – FlashMasque Illuminate
I was really excited to receive two of these FLASHMASQUE’s in my Ipsy bag, because I love face masks of all kinds and I had never tried a masque before. It felt really good on my face for the 5 minutes and I even left it on a little longer. It says you don’t need to rinse after you take the mask on, that it will absorb into your skin… however, my skin felt a little sticky to the touch afterwards. I think it’d be nicer if my skin felt smooth and not sticky after taking the masque off. It almost made me want to wash my face afterwards. Sorry I’m not smiling in this photo, it was a little hard to do with the masque on. 🙂
I would rate it 3/5 stars.
Rodial – Stem Cell Cleansing Cream
This cleansing cream is really nice and I like how well it cleans my face, especially getting my makeup off. I still had to use an eye cleaner to get my eye makeup (liner and mascara) off, but that is pretty normal given the eye makeup I use. My face felt really clean afterwards and soft… it almost felt like I was wearing lotion after I rinsed it off. I want to try it as a mask next (since it is a mask and a cleanser!).
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
And, if we look back from a YEAR ago… this is my June 2015 box and I’m sharing what I used and what I didn’t use…
Products from my June 2015 Box I’ve Kept or Tossed:
This was a pretty good bag… The Formula X nail color in Power Source is a coral color and I still have half a bottle left. I’ve worn it on my nails two times already this summer. I have since received another bottle of Formula X polish (last fall) and its a pretty good polish. The Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer was also new to me then and now I buy it and use it regularly. The Brow Power by it Cosmetics was a nice and quick way to do my brows and is perfect when you are traveling.
I really liked Pure Vanilla Body Butter, but there was a lot of air in the tube and I only got ONE application out of it. 🙁 The tre’StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon was just hohum. I think I used it once to try it and now I’m thinking I should give it away or toss it.
