I’m on #20 with Ipsy and I’m still happy and just can’t cancel or switch to any of these other subscription boxes. Although, Sephora Play has been really tempting me! I would say this months bag was pretty darn good, but not one of my absolute favorites.
What is Ipsy?
If you’ve never heard about Ipsy before, it is a mail subscription that sends you a new makeup pouch each month along with 5 products to sample. And, the kicker? It is ONLY $10 a month! It is also fun to see what others get, because not everyone gets the same products… you fill out a questionnaire and they base your products off of your answers. If you’re interested, you can sign up under me, by clicking HERE and I’ll earn some points to buy myself extra products. Thanks!
Now, let’s review my Ipsy bag!
July Ipsy
*In the photo above I’m wearing the theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) eyeshadow, Briogeo Curl Charisma, Too Faced Hangover Primer and Infinity Eyeliner.
theBalm Cosmetics – Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Moskowitz
When I opened this eye shadow, I was excited to find that it was a nice plum color (which goes great with my brown eyes). Ipsy almost always sends me neutral eye shadows, so I was excited to get a plum color. I have been sent this eye shadow brand in the past in a neutral color and its goes on matte and has great staying power.
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Quinoa Frizz Control Gel
This worked really well in my naturally curly hair, but nothing about it stood out or WOW’ed me enough to want to buy it again.
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
Too Faced – Hangover Replenishing Face Primer
This worked really well as a primer and I love the name and print on the tube. I still like the primer I normally use better, though.
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
skin ICELAND – The Antidote Cooling Daily Lotion
This really is a nice refreshing lotion! I usually put it on before bed and I know you are supposed to rinse it off… but, I’ve forgotten a few times and my skin is really soft in the morning!
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
Thrive Causemetics – Infinity Waterproof Eyeliner in Lauren (Matte Black)
I am really picky about eyeliners and this one is a GOOD one! It glides on easily, there is a lot of pigment and it even has a smudger on the other tip! And is waterproof! Perfect!
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
And, if we look back from a YEAR ago… this is my July 2015 box and I’m sharing what I used and what I didn’t use…
Products from my June 2015 Box I’ve Kept or Tossed:
This bag was just OK… I do love the Smashbox Lip Color that I received A LOT, it is sort of an orange red color and was a prize I redeemed with my points. The other lip color (BellaPierre) was pink and I am actually wearing it in the top photo where I am reviewing the products for this month.
One of my favorite products in this months bag was the City Color HD Powder and it was the first time I was introduced to a HD Powder… now I am addicted and I use it every day!
The Mongongo chapstick smelled good, but didn’t keep my lips as moist as I would have liked. And, the Jorel Parker perfume is fun with its roll on applicator and I have it on my dresser with my other perfumes. 🙂 Not my most favorite scent, but I wear it occasionaly.
