I’m on #21 with Ipsy… which is almost TWO years! This box was a pretty good one, since I love It cosmetics and facial treatments (there was 2 in the box!). The lipgloss they sent is a perfect color on me and has great lasting power. The face powder (made with crushed diamonds) is also wonderful. The pouch is pretty cute, too and I love the pastel colors and design of it. I did order a free product with my free points I have accumulated, BUT I think I missed the date and it should be in next months bag.
What is Ipsy?
If you’ve never heard about Ipsy before, it is a mail subscription that sends you a new makeup pouch each month along with 5 products to sample. And, the kicker? It is ONLY $10 a month! It is also fun to see what others get, because not everyone gets the same products… you fill out a questionnaire and they base your products off of your answers. If you’re interested, you can sign up under me, by clicking HERE and I’ll earn some points to buy myself extra products. Thanks!
Now, let’s review my Ipsy bag!
August Ipsy
*In the photo above I’m wearing Trust Fund Beauty Liquid Lipstick, Winky Lux Diamond Complextion Powder, and IT Cosmetics No-Tug Eyeliner.
Trust Fund Beauty – Liquid Lipstick in K, Bye
I was really excited to receive another Trust Fund Beauty item in the bag this month. In the past, I was sent a nail color from them. This liquid lipstick is a great everyday shade that I don’t have already and it really stays on for HOURS. I will definitely use it up! I’m wearing this in the photo above.
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
Neogen Code 9 – Gold Black Caviar Essence & Gold Tox Tightening 2 Pack
You exfoliate your skin with this product on one side (there is even real gold flakes you can see) and you absorb and smooth it with the other side. The price point on this product is pretty high, BUT I don’t think I would go out of my way to buy it. My face didn’t really feel any different or tighter after using it… but, it was a fun product to try out and they sent 2 packs and I’ll get to do it one more time!
I would rate it 3/5 stars.
Winky Lux – Diamond Complexion Powder in Light
I used this over my foundation and I was really impressed with it! It is a little light on me since I have a summer tan, but I applied a bronzer on top and it looked great! I really like how there is crushed diamonds in this, how glamorous is that? I also like that it doesn’t have a shimmer and it applies evenly and goes on my brush like a dream! I also think it would look great under my eyes to brighten them. I’m wearing this in the photo above.
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
It Cosmetics – No-Tug Waterproof Mini Gel Eyeliner
I really love IT Cosmetics, so I was excited to receive this in my bag! However, Ipsy did send me a black eyeliner last month, SO I think I’m good on black eyeliner for awhile. This eyeliner glides on easily and definitely doesn’t tug. It self sharpens and I wish the point was a little thinner on the tip. I didn’t notice any smudging when I wore it. I’m wearing this in the photo above.
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
Global Beauty Care – Dead Sea Wash Off Mask
I really enjoy trying out different face masks… even if I do look scary with them on. Ha! This one was just OK. My face did feel nice and refreshed after, but I wouldn’t go out of the way to buy it again. I will probably get 3-5 facials out of this pouch. I did like that the dirt and minerals are from the Dead Sea in Israel and I have never tried a dirt mask before… it reminded me a lot of a charcoal mask I tried a few months ago.
I would rate it 3/5 stars.
And, if we look back from a YEAR ago… this is my August 2015 box and I’m sharing what I used and what I didn’t use…
Products from my August 2015 Box I’ve Kept or Tossed:
There are two products from this box that I am still using and really, really love: Skone Cosmetics Luxe Doubler Eye Lip Pencil in Wine. I wear this as a lipstick, I fill in my lips with this wine color for a nice and long lasting fall shade. The ‘Pencil Me In’ Cosmetics Natural Eyeliner Pencil in Boysenberry is more of a blue color (I know, weird) and I love to wear it when I’m wearing navy or anything blue! It really makes my eyes pop.
I really enjoyed the Paula’s Choice Skincare Retinol Serum, but it didn’t last long enough for me to see results. The Albertini Divine Skin Hydrator is a product you put on your skin in the shower and you rinse it off and it moisturizes your skin. This was great to use after shaving my legs.
The Doll 10 Blush is a rub on blush and it goes great with my skin color… but, my powder bushes are SO much easier to blend and apply that I forget about it a lot.
