Hi everyone! I am really excited to share today’s post with you, because it involves a craft AND being prepared this winter! I am going to share with you how to make your very own Stylish Pill Box, because pill boxes can look rather dull and it helps to have your pills clearly labeled. That way, when I am in a rush… I can find one dose of Extra Strength TYLENOL® easily along with other pain and ache relievers!
Decorating and labeling your pill box is actually easier than you may think. This took me an hour tops. I am a busy mom of two that is ALWAYS on the go. Having an organized pill box that is labeled clearly with one dose of each pill helps me for when my life gets hectic. I keep this pill box on top of my refrigerator, so that it is easy to find, which is much better than digging through multiple bottles in our medicine cabinet to find what I need when I’m crunched for time.
How to Create a Stylish Pill Box
First I went shopping at my local Target for the items I needed for the pill box. Extra Strength TYLENOL® went in my cart as it has been a long time favorite of mine.
Extra Strength TYLENOL® temporarily relieves minor aches and pains due to: the common cold, headache, backache, minor pain of arthritis, toothache, muscular aches, premenstrual and menstrual cramps; temporarily reduces fever. It is for adults and children 12 years and older. Use only as directed.
First you will want to find a background for the flip up tabs on your pill bottle. I found some fall floral background images online and paid $4.00 for them. I know I will use them again and it was exactly what I wanted for my pill box. I used Photoshop and Indesign to create the rectangles and to place a white oval on top with text, but there is a good free online program called PicMonkey that you could use.
I cut the rectangles out and I used double-sided tape to adhere them onto each flip up tab on the pill box.
You have to admit, this is SO much cuter than just a plain ole pill box!
I then put ONE dose in each compartment in the pill box. This makes it easy for when you are in a rush and you won’t have to second guess how much you need. Then, you can refill it as needed. You’ll see in the photo above that I put 2 pills in the compartment that holds the Extra Strength TYLENOL®.
I went through each compartment and added the correct dosage for each type of pain reliever. You’ll see that for Motrin, you only need one pill. I even added in a dollop of Bengay! It is so nice to get back to the things you love with powerful relief of headaches, back pain and more!
I keep this pill box on top of my refrigerator, but I wanted to stage it here to show you how beautiful it looks with the decorated tabs! Oooh, ahhh! Doesn’t this just make you smile?
I left two of the compartments empty, but they can always be labeled later.
The flips on the pill box are green and I was worried they wouldn’t look good, but the fall floral backgrounds have a little greenery in them and it matches well! I found this extra large pill box at Target.
Here is another view of what the pill box looks like when it is open. It is amazing how organizing something as simple as this can make your life so much easier!
And, for your reference, these are the bottles to all of the pain relievers that I placed in the medicine box.
I included TYLENOL® PM, that relieves minor aches and pains while helping you fall asleep. It is non-habit forming when used as directed.
TYLENOL® 8 HR Muscle Aches & Pain, which temporarily relieves minor aches and pains due to: muscular aches, backache, minor pain of arthritis, toothache, premenstrual and menstrual cramps, headache, the common cold and temporarily reduces fever.
I also included MOTRIN® IB and Ultra Strength BENGAY® Cream.
