Welcome to the Holiday Home Tour Party!
Today I am sharing my Christmas Front Porch and you can also stop by four other blogs to see their Holiday Home Tours! I will be sharing the inside of my home next week, so stay tuned for that! Also, be sure to link up your Holiday Home Tours through Dec. 24!
I always seem to put my main focus on the INSIDE of our home for Christmas and I’ve always neglected our front porch. We usually put lights out, but I didn’t put much thought into decorating our covered porch. Our porch is pretty large, so I’ve been wanting to spend some time on making it look better. I figure since the lights only come on at night, I should work on making the porch look nice during the day, too! Today I’m going to share with you how I transformed my porch with Christmas neutrals, which I have been fond of this year.
Hope you enjoy as you follow along and don’t forget to enter a giveaway I have going for a Heat Press at the end of this post. 🙂
This is what our front porch looks like this year… ignore the dead hosta and bush with all of the leaves stuck in it, we still have leaves pouring off our sweet gum ball tree. I usually put light up trees around the porch area, but I’m not sure if I’ll have time this year. I also usually have greens wrapped around the posts (with lights). I’m so behind on the outdoor lights game, that I may skip this year. The husband did get our lights up on the roof, though!
Here is the front porch from last year. I went with reds, whites and greens and this year I’m going more neutral. I hope to work on it a little more next year, I would like to make bigger bows for the tops of the topiaries in the urns and add some small ornaments. I also may add in a few pops of red for a little color and I need to work on a homemade Christmas wreath. I also really like how the lights ‘fill in’ some of the porch area. So, it’s always nice to have something to work on the next year! Goals, people! Goals!!
Here is the front door and a cute banner that I found at Hobby Lobby that says ‘Making Spirits Bright’.
Here is a closer view of the ‘sitting’ area of the porch.
Last summer, I received this shelf c/o At Home and I have had so much fun decorating it for each season!
Top Shelf:
I personalize the top chalkboard every season with something new. I try to keep it short, so I wrote out ‘Seasons Greetings’. For the top shelf I have a gold deer, a wooden ornament, gold poinsettia and some greens with a white ornament.
Bottom Shelf:
For the bottom shelf, I found a wood palette with a deer and ‘Joy to the World’ stamped on it, an oversized glittery acorn and I placed a white/gold tree on a small wreath on top of an old popcorn tin. I added some greens and a gold ornament to finish it off.
How I Decorated the Wooden Reindeer:
I’ve had these wooden reindeer for over a decade! I have decorated them SO many different ways. I love to fill their backs with ornaments and they look adorable with a bow around their neck.
Sitting Area/Bench:
For the bench, I threw a soft blanket over it and added a few pillows in neutral colors. I just love how it turned out!
I hope you enjoyed seeing photos of my Christmas Front Porch Decor! This Friday I’ll be sharing how I decorated my new console table for Christmas and NEXT week I’ll be sharing my interior home tour! Yay!
