I’m back today with my May Currently post. I always enjoy updating y’all on my life happenings.
Running/Exercise
Ever since I ran the half marathon last month, I’ve been feeling a little running burnout. I wanted to sign up for the new trail running 10 week session with Fleet Feet, but didn’t realize it started LAST weekend… and, with back to back booked/busy weekends, I just couldn’t sign up for it. So, I am still considering the summer training and maybe it’ll be for the best… because, let’s face it… trails make me nervous (I’m a klutz!).
I’ve been running 3 times a week and on the dreadmill, so maybe that is why I’m feeling a little burnout. I should try to get outside, but the trail by our house is currently flooded. I do need to look for a late Spring/early Summer 5k, though… I haven’t done a 5k OR a 10k in awhile and it just sounds fun!
I have also introduced some Yoga into my week along with my Jillian 30 Day Shred. I really, really love the Yoga! It isn’t easy, yet I don’t sweat to death… it’s a little relaxing yet tough. Does that make sense? I’ve been doing the Energize part of the DVD once a week and then I’d like to try the Relaxing portion of the DVD in the evening sometime with candles!
I also want to try out some repetitive exercises I can do each day to get my stomach in a little better shape before our trip to Mexico! I would like to look my best in a swimsuit!
Reading
This month I read one book…
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
This was a quick little book to read and one that has been on my ‘to read’ list for awhile. It’s about a shepherd boy who travels from Spain to the pyramids of Egypt in search of treasure. The friendships, the love of his life that he meets, adventures and what he finds in his heart is what makes this story so special. It really does encourage you to believe in your dreams and to listen to your heart a little more carefully. If you are trying to do some soul searching, or trying to figure out your purpose here on Earth, this is the perfect book for you!
Summer Bucket List
I’m excited to be joining some other blogger friends next month with our Summer Bucket Lists! I haven’t done one of these in awhile and really the school year is so busy nowadays, that I thought the summer may be my only time to do one! I plan to break it up into three categories, a few things I want to do with the hubs, us as a family and some personal bucket list goals for ME! How fun, right?!
Basket from Vaseline for Influencer Badge Prize!
I sometimes receive Vox Box’s from Influenster to try out and they really liked the photo I shared of their Vaseline product… and I won a Badge Prize! Wow! This prize was HUGE! I got this enormous basket of Vaseline products! I really don’t know what I will do with all of this lotion, so I’ll definitely be sharing it with family and friends. I was also excited to receive chapstick, I love chapstick! 🙂 Thank you, Vaseline!!
NOW… the rest of this post is about products I’m ‘Currently’ trying… I happened to have a lot this month, but it’s been so fun to try them out. So, read on if you love product reviews (like I do!!) and I’m even sharing some recipes:
I’ve also tried a couple of new recipes with some products I received. 🙂
Peter and Pat’s Pierogies
Recently I was sent these potato and cheese dumplings and I wasn’t sure how to prepare them. Lauren (from Mom Home Guide) gave me the idea to try them with an Alfredo sauce and mushrooms. Oh my! They were so good!
These dumplings are made from 100% natural ingredients! They are 100% real potato and cheese, which is a mixture of cheddar, farmers, parmesan and swiss cheeses. I could definitely tell by the flavor that they are made from the finest ingredients!
You can find them at your local Costco location! You get 4 pounds of all-natural pierogies for just $9.99! There are 65 pierogies per bag (12 servings per bag). They are my favorite side dish right now!
CaveTools Vegetable Grill Basket and Watermelon Feta Salad
I am excited to share another recipe with you! CaveTools recently sent me their vegetable grill basket and I used it to grill fruit!! I’ve been wanting to try out a recipe for a watermelon, feta and basil salad for awhile now and this made it so much easier! I could cut the watermelon in cubes and I didn’t have to worry about it falling into the grill!

And, ta-da! Here is what it looked like when done! It was SO good! Click HERE for the recipe if you’re interested.
And, I have some beauty products I’ve received recently that I wanted to share my opinions on:
HydroPeptide Nimni Cream is Turning My Skin On!
This Nimni Cream from HydroPeptide couldn’t have come at a better time! This product promises to turn on your skins happy cells for younger looking skin! This product contains retinol and is recommended for the night. Dr. Marcel Nimni who “wrote the book” on collagen developed this product, which contains a revolutionary patented amino acid complex. I can’t wait to try this out on my skin, especially to lessen the look of some of the fine lines around my eyes!
Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish
One of my favorite rituals for my skin is to exfoliate it a few times a week. I have tried many products, but was recently sent Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish to try and my skin has been glowing! What is nice about this exfoliator is that it contains a unique blend of physical, chemical and enzyme rejuvenators. With just one application of its professional grade crystals with Papaya Enzyme and Glycol Acid, you’re delivered instant skin resurfacing!
I’ve really noticed that my large pores look clearer and smaller after I use this and my entire complexion is brighter. It really does help to dissolve impurities and loosen dead skin cells!
You want to massage it on your face in a circular motion without too much pressure for 30 seconds and then you can leave it on your face for 1-2 minutes. Follow with a moisturizer. You’ll definitely be impressed!
Vanity Planet
Palette – Professional & Portable Makeup Brush Collection and ME Makeover Essentials Makeover Essentials Classic 10 – Sunlit Breeze
Vanity Planet is an online boutique market place focusing on beauty, wellness and grooming. They sent me a couple of their products to review and I’ve been really enjoying both of them! The Makeup Brush Collection is HUGE and I’m going to have so much fun experimenting with all of these different brushes. I also love that it is portable and rolls up for travel. The eye shadow palette has also been wonderful and the Sunlit Breeze neutral colors go great with my skin tone.
A couple of my favorite beauty tips are to apply a little gel to your brows to set them for the day and I like to give my nails a ‘weekend’ (two days) off from polish every week.
You can now receive 50% off All Makeup on the site using the code: BBMakeup50

SafetyTat
SafetyTat’s sent me some adorable temporary child ID tattoos samples and I can’t wait to use these at Disney! Both of our kids know our phone numbers, but I always worry that if they get lost they’ll get nervous and forget them! It is just a peace of mind to me, especially when we’re somewhere crowded and unfamiliar! They even have tattoos where you can write a number on them.
They are water and sweat proof and you can also stick them on lunch boxes, books and more!
