My husband and I love to grill! I usually leave the grilling to him and then I whip up some tasty sides! We also love our outdoor patio space that we just updated, it’s such a nice space to enjoy family time and good food. We definitely want STRONG, sturdy plates (such as Dixie Ultra® at Target, so we don’t have any stains or spills or our nice new seat cushions and pillows! Today I’m sharing one of our favorite burgers to grill, a Cheddar Dijon Burger with Caramelized Onions Served Open Face! It is perfect with a side of corn and a cool summer salad.

How to Make Cheddar Dijon Burger with Caramelized Onions Served Open Face
The caramelized onions on top of a cheesy burger are what make this dish so delicious! Now I’ll share this simple recipe for you, so you can enjoy it this summer, too!
First I stopped into my local Target store to stock up on the Dixie Ultra 10 1/16″ Paper Plates in 20 count and the Dixie Ultra 8.5″ Paper Plates in 30 count. I found them on a special end cap. I love that I can skip the dishes with heavy-duty plates and bowls that let me spend time with my friends and family, not my sponge. These plate designs are only available at Target.
Target is offering a Cartwheel offer:

You will need:
Burger Buns (I purchased some fancy brioche ones)
1 pound of Ground Chuck
Cheddar Cheese Slices
1 Tablespoon of Dijon Mustard
1 Sliced Onion
Sparkling Apple Cider (Non-Alcoholic)
In a large skillet, cook your sliced onions over olive oil until they caramelize (they will turn shiny and slightly brown on the edges). Stir in a tablespoon of Dijon mustard and 1/3 cup of sparkling apple cider. Turn on low and stir occasionally for 5 minutes.
Turn your grill on to medium high. In a bowl, combine your ground chuck with 1/3 cup of the sparkling apple cider and season with salt and pepper. Shape into four hamburger patties and place on grill, 6 minutes per side.
Add a slice of cheese and the buns and grill for 1 minute.
When done, top a bun with a cheesy burger and then cover with the delicious caramelized onions! The perfect sides for this are a cool and refreshing summer salad and corn on the cob.
