How to Make a Host Holiday Gift Basket
During the holidays, your host is prepping and cleaning their home and spending a lot of their time in the kitchen. Sometimes they may overlook items they may need, or their items may be depleted after hosting. I love to throw together a Host Gift Basket, so that they don’t have to run out to the store during or after their party. I also like to include some special items that the host can enjoy after spending so much energy getting the party together, such as a box of chocolates, a candle and faux plant.
These are the items you’ll need for your Host Gift Basket:
- Angel Soft® Bath Tissue
- Sparkle® Paper Towels
- Dixie® Everyday Paper Plates
- Large Basket
- Pillow, Blanket or Tissue Paper (to stuff the bottom of the basket with)
- Ribbon for a Bow
- Box of Chocolates
- Candle
- Faux Plant
Take your oversized basket and add a pillow to the bottom of it, this will help you place your items in the basket. Otherwise the items will sink to the bottom! You can also use a blanket or tissue paper to fill the bottom of the basket.
Next, place your Dixie® Everyday Paper Plates and Sparkle® Paper Towels in the basket.
A large bow always livens up a basket and the host can remove it and use it again! I like to make my own bows with ribbon. If you want to save time, you could purchase a bow that is already made for the basket.
Since the Angel Soft® toilet paper is in such a big package, I usually add a few rolls to the basket and then I give the host the package of toilet paper separately. I wrap some of the rolls of toilet paper with ribbon, to give them a festive look.
Next, I add in the personal items for the host, such as the candle, faux plant and a box of chocolates.
This faux plant is actually a place holder! I took out the stake, but included it in the basket by wrapping it in some tissue paper. The host can use this to label a food item at the next party.
It is always nice to remember the host and to give them a gift! It helps them to feel appreciated and it can also help them out if they need extras during the party (or after)! Stopping by Dollar General to buy items for the host also gives you a chance to stock up on items you may need at your own home for the holiday season. I love that my dollar goes further at Dollar General with the awesome deals they have on Georgia-Pacific products. Find some more holiday hosting and entertaining ideas HERE.
