When we finally find the time and the finances to do a little bit of redecorating, it’s usually the inside of our properties that get all the glory. From updating the little ones rooms with a lick of paint, to treating our feet with a new living room rug, from wallpaper and lighting to new furniture and even indoor plants, our home interiors get it all. But, when was the last time the outside of your property got any attention Whether you own your own home or you’re currently renting, it’s not always easy to find cheap and cheerful ways to keep your property looking fresh and inviting.
So, With That In Mind I’ve Rounded Up 4 Ways You Can Spruce Up The Outside Of Your Property That Won’t Break The Bank:
Try a Little Signage
It might surprise you, but doing something as simple and straightforward as putting up a sign can dramatically change the look of your property. Adding signage is also a great way to inject a little bit of your personality into your property. Things like a quirky house number on a colorful plaque, or something a little more ornate and elaborate can add a touch of class and style to your home. It also makes it easier for the pizza delivery guy to find your home!
Add Some Outdoor Lighting
A dark and gloomy looking garden path up to your front door isn’t very appealing and it can also be a security issue. Adding some outdoor lighting to your property will not only make it look well cared for and attractive but can also ward off burglars and make you feel safer when you’re returning home after dark. Try adding some outdoor wall lights to either side of your front door, perhaps some solar garden stakes lining the garden path or even some fairy lights in your flowerbeds.
Add Color
There’s nothing like a splash of color to make a property look stunning from the curbside. Try planting some bushes, shrubs or even plants that retain their color all year round. If you’re not particularly green fingered then fill some large planters and pots with gorgeously vivid perennials and enjoy the colors and butterflies that come to visit. If you don’t have a front garden then don’t worry; consider adding some flower pots either side of your front door or even filling a window box with some pretty blooms.
Maintenance
It’s not a pleasant job, but someone has to do it. Keeping the front lawn mown, getting rid of weeds, making sure the drains are clear of leaves and cleaning your front door and step from time to time. You could always get the kids involved and make it a family project at the weekend! If you have the budget, consider hiring a jet washer to really give your garden path a new lease of life – you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner!
