*** Jill and I won’t be having Thursday Fashion Files this week, since it falls on the July 4th holiday. I’ll be back Friday with a fun Friday Five post! ***
I’m back with another Disney post! Today I’m sharing our day at Epcot and then we had a rest day at our resort (Animal Kingdom Lodge) the day after. I’ll have one more Disney post next week, which will be Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. We were running late the morning of Epcot, so we took Disney’s new ‘Uber’ service over to Epcot in the Minnie Car. It was pretty easy and really nice.
We got a lot of really nice family photos at Epcot with the Memory Maker. I feel like this was the day we got the best family pictures! We did a red, white and blue theme this day, I thought it’d be perfect with the 4th of July coming up.
This photo turned out really cute!
The World Showcase is my favorite part of Epcot. My husband proposed to me under the Eiffel tower and when I see Disney’s Eiffel tower is brings back all the warm and fuzzies!
Another great photo of all of us, you’d never guess that it was SO hot (over 100 degrees!) here.
Brian and I were going to take our photo here, but somehow it landed up being all of us! The kids were in the mood for their pictures to be taken (so rare these days! Ha!).
I got my first Disney Starbucks at Epcot and man… I love that you can get a Venti size as a ‘snack’ with their dining program. The drink I always order at Starbucks is a Venti iced blonde vanilla latte whipped. I rarely ever order anything else unless it is #psl season, but lets not bring up the Fall and pumpkins yet, mmm, K?!

EVERY restaurant at Disney, including Starbucks had paper straws. I used to love getting a paper straw in a restaurant at home, because it rarely happens… but, having paper straws for a week long vacation at Disney makes you realize how terrible these things are. They fall apart, get soggy on the top and they do not work well at all with kids! We found ourselves using 1-3 straws for one drink, just because they’d unravel, get soggy or snap. Here is my son with his snapped straw. I am all for protecting animals, the Earth, etc., but if you go to Disney… BRING stainless steel straws from home FOR everyone!!! I love THESE stainless steel straws that have silicone tips!
We love trying new to us restaurants at Disney and decided to try the Mexican restaurant San Angel Inn. It is a table service restaurant.
The dining area is so pretty, with candlelight and they even bring out free chips and salsa to your table.
Autumn was excited to see Mary Poppins again this year!
We tried another new to us place for dinner, who knew that Disney had a hibachi restaurant? Teppan Edo is in Japan and I was excited to see they had scallops on their menu and they were quite good!
We are so full from dinner, that we took our desserts (the Green Tea Mousse Cake is delish!) back to the hotel with us.
The day after Epcot, we had a rest day… we’ve found that two days of theme parks is the max we can do, especially in the summer when it is so hot in Orlando! In the morning, I got to meet one of my sweet blogging friends (will share more details on my Friday Five this week!) and then we spent the rest of the day swimming. I love the little water slide that Animal Kingdom Lodge has, I went down it several times!
They have pool activities for the kids to do and Autumn won the hula hoop contest!
For dinner, we dined in our hotel at Boma, which is a buffet that we had dined at when we stayed here 6 years ago. It was really good and it was nice to not have to leave the hotel to eat! A big storm rolled in while we had dinner and a bored lifeguard took this family photo for us!
I wanted to let y’all know that Jill and I will not be having Thursday Fashion Files this week since it falls on July 4th! We’ll be relaxing and enjoying time with our families. I’ll be back on Friday with a Friday Five!! 🙂
