Happy Friday Everyone!
Happy Friday! We have been all sick over here since getting back from Hawaii. I hate summer sickness! I think we are all finally getting better, but I can’t tell you how hard it is to transition back to the time change here from Hawaii when you’re congested and you’re already having trouble sleeping. But, I’ll tell you… Hawaii was so worth it and thankfully I didn’t come down with the plague that I got (and spread to the entire family) until the day after we were home. I really think I caught it on the flight back. Boo!!
One – Target has THE Cutest Bow Earrings!
Shop This Look:
The other day I was in Target… twice. But, on my second visit I happened to see these ADORABLE Acrylic Bow Earrings by Sugarfix by BaubleBar! YAAASSS! They come in blush, tortoise or white. I seriously couldn’t decide what color to get, but I went with the blush pair. I really think I may get these in the other two colors, I just love them THAT much. Won’t these be just so cute for everyday wear, the blush for Valentine’s Day or even the white ones for Christmas?! They’d also make super cute gifts! Ahhhh, the possibilities are endless!

Here are the earrings in all three shades! Which color would you purchase?
Two – FabFitFun Selections!
Well, it is August… which, I know a lot of people hate August, because of back to school. But, it is my birthday month! So, I can’t hate it too much. But, I am so sad summer is almost over. 🙁 This week, I customized my FabFitFun box, since I pay for the quarterly box a year at a time, I get this feature. I went with a scarf, charcuterie board, the BaubleBar ear crawlers (eek! I love BaubleBar and I swear FabFitFun has given me some of my favorite jewelry pieces over the years!), an eye/brow pencil kit and a roller ball. Plus, the box will have some other surprises in it. One of the options this time was a Kate Spade lunch tote, which was RATHER tempting. But, I always eat lunch at home, so I passed on it! Do you get FabFitFun and what are you excited about receiving in your box this Fall? Let me know!
Three – Amazon Swimsuit LOVE
Shop This Look:
I recently shared a post that had all of my swimsuits (Amazon, of course!) and outfits I wore in Maui. I was blown away by everyones reactions on how much they loved the Amazon suits I wore. So, I wanted to share them one more time here and if you want to go back to my Maui outfit post, you can find it HERE. The swimsuit pictured above with the gold/yellow top and floral high waisted bottom was the most popular of all three that I wore in Maui and I have to agree it was my fave, too! I really plan to buy 1 or 2 other prints in it soon, so I’m set for next summer! 🙂

Four – Diabetic Cat & Update on Baby Guinea Pigs
Unfortunately, before our trip to Hawaii we found out through a blood and urine test that Bratches, my cat of 13 years is diabetic. We noticed at home that she was drinking a lot more and using the litter box frequently. The poor girl. The vet didn’t want to start insulin until we got back from Hawaii and said she would be ok, but since we’ve been back we’ve been giving her insulin shots twice a day. I’ll admit, it is tough. My husband handles it better than I do, but he travels a lot for work… so, I’ve been doing the shots, too.
What makes it even more difficult is that the shots need to be exactly 12 hours apart, so the vet suggested 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. So, even on the weekends we need to make sure we get up to give her that 7 a.m. shot and I’m not sure how we’ll work out dinner or other evening plans with the 7 p.m. shot, but so far we’ve been ok with it. And, I don’t even want to think about how we’ll be able to keep her on her insulin schedule while we’re on vacation… but, we don’t have any vacations planned for awhile. I need to do some more research online about it. There is also diabetic cat food, but I’m not sure if that is an option for her. She goes back to the vet next week for another blood check. At the last blood check, they had to raise her insulin by 1 unit (so it is 2 units twice a day), because it was still elevated. The poor girl!
Does any on here have a diabetic pet? Or have you had one?
We’ve really hit the pet jackpot around here lately. If you remember my last Friday Five post, I mentioned how PetSmart gave us a boy and girl guinea pig and not two boys. So, now we have 4 baby guinea pigs! They are really growing fast. The one in the photo above is Double Stuff.
So… we are keeping all 4 baby guinea pigs and mom and dad… which means they need a bigger habitat. My husband is building THIS habitat for them. Yeah… it’s huge! We will have 3 guinea pigs on top and 3 on bottom. We did get the dad guinea pig fixed, so it’ll be him and the 2 girls on top and then the 3 boy babies on the bottom. We are planning to keep them downstairs (we have a finished basement) near the windows, so they get a little sunlight. They give us so much joy, but gosh I wish we still had just two guinea pigs!
Five – Sephora Play! July Box
Shop This Post:
I received my Sephora Play July box and it had a lot of great new (to me) items in it:
Shiseido – Controlled Chaos Volumizing Mascara Ink in Black Pulse: I love trying out different mascaras and these travel sizes ones are great to pack along on vacation. I have a cousin that just graduated and moved to Japan to work for Shiseido! This mascara is bold and stays on great all day without flaking.
Milk Makeup – Hydro Grip Primer: This primer helps keep your makeup looking top notch all day. It is made with hemp-derived cannabis seed extract. Have you noticed how popular hemp has become in the beauty industry lately?
Ren Clean Skincare – Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic: I’ve been really loving tonics lately, I will apply them to my skin with a cotton ball before applying my serum and moisturizer. This one will really up your glow factor!
Indie Lee – Brightening Cleanser: This cleanser will wash away impurities and dullness from your skin. You can also use it as an exfoliating mask, just leave on for five minutes before rinsing off! It is all natural and non-toxic.
Living Proof – Perfect Hair Day Triple Detox Shampoo: I’m always pleased with Living Proof products! This non-stripping shampoo removes buildup from product, pollution and hard water. You’ll just swap this shampoo in as needed, but it isn’t an everyday shampoo.
Atelier Cologne – Clementine California Cologne Absolute Pure Perfume: This was the bonus item in the Sephora Play box. I can definitely smell the clementines in this and a hint of sandalwood. This is a great perfume for the summer and would be for the spring, too!
Well, I hope everyone has a nice and relaxing weekend!
