It’s been almost 2 summers ago that I went to Haven, my first ever blog conference. While at Haven, A Maker’s Studio was one of the vendors I met and talked with. They gave me this adorable stencil and paint package and I applied it to a mini chalkboard I had in storage and I added a burlap bow. I was really pleased with how this turned out, but when I had finished it I knew I wanted to wait until the Fall to share it on here, since the paint they provided me was orange. I usually have neutrals in my home, but I thought the pop of orange would be really pretty in my decor for the Fall. So, today I’m finally sharing you this lovely Home Decor Chalkboard Sign for the Fall.
Since I pulled this small chalkboard out of storage, I knew I wanted to update the frame on it a bit with a quick whitewash to brighten it up and to take some of the yellow out of it.
Once the paint on the frame dried, I was ready to apply my A Maker’s Studio stencil! It is sooo easy! I brought my bow making supplies upstairs and selected a burlap ribbon and a thin orange ribbon for the bow.
Since I wanted to apply a bow to the top of the chalkboard, I placed the stencil at the bottom of the frame. Adhere it to the frame and then paint over it with the chalk paint. It dries quickly and then you can just pull the stencil off to reveal perfectly stenciled words and letters! See, I told you it was easy!
I love to have little vignettes around my home, especially in the Fall. I just propped this sign up in my kitchen and layered some faux pumpkins and burlap leaves next to it and I was done!! Have you ever used A Maker’s Studio? I just love their products… I really want to look into getting one for my LARGE chalkboard easel that I sometimes place out on my front porch. They have so many products, you can take a look at them all HERE (and no, this isn’t sponsored!). Have a great day, friends!
