Happy Friday Everyone!
I’m trying to post a Friday Five once a month… Let’s see if I can stick to that plan. 🙂
One – Fall is Here! What We’ve Been Up To…
Before the kids started school, I was SO excited to get a Tea Time in at the London Tea Room. I love a good tea time and we went here last summer and they have a great selection of teas and the price is just right.
Lots of yummy sandwiches, scones and desserts!
Every week or two I buy some fresh flowers for our kitchen table. Trader Joe’s has THE best flowers. I purchased these Fall flowers recently on my last trip.
The Fall items are starting to sprinkle into Trader Joe’s stores and I saw on my last trip that this Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese is back. OH, man do I love this stuff! I know frozen meals aren’t the best, but I grabbed a couple of them to take home with me and I’ve already had one and it was delicious!
I love to go to the Kirkwood Market for my tomatoes every couple of weeks and this last time I took home this delicious jar of Pumpkin Butter with me. I love to spread it on the homemade bread that Brian makes. 🙂
In the Fall I just love to visit HomeGoods and TJMaxx… and, on my last visit I picked up these adorable Rae Dunn Pumpkin themed coasters. I saw this Halloween bulb tree and I was SO tempted, but I didn’t get it. It’s cute, though!
Two – And… after a 22 Week Hiatus, They’re Back!
I honestly did not think these two would be doing five day a week school this Fall! But, we are going on 6 weeks now and it has been doing ok!! Autumn is in 6th grade this year and Nathan is a freshman… it has been exhausting getting back into a more normal routine. Not only do they have school, but Nathan has cross country and karate and Autumn is doing competitive dance after school. How is school going for you in your city/state? Let me know in the comments!
Three – Latest Items I’m Loving
Shop:
I can’t wait to set up my tiered tray for the Fall! I wanted to share a couple of Etsy shop owners that are selling the CUTEST wooden fall items that would be perfect for your tiered tray(s). This wooden apple comes in red or green, shop it HERE from NE Farmhouse Design.
Shop:
NE Farmhouse Design has a ton of other cute wooden items, but I am in love with these wooden PSL cozy mugs, too! Shop them HERE.
Shop:
The other Etsy shop I wanted to share on here is Purely Katie. She has these adorable wooden houses for sale that would compliment your Fall decor or tiered tray perfectly. She has several designs available. Shop these wooden houses HERE.
Willow Crowns is a shop I used to love when my daughter was younger… they have SO many beautiful bows you can buy. The shop has evolved and carries so much more these days. When I spotted these embroidered long sleeved t-shirts saying Wine, Please and Coffee, Please I knew I had to have one! I bought two and gifted one and kept the other one for myself.
I hope to style the tee I got on the blog soon. I think it’ll be so cute with a puffer vest, cardi or my leopard jacket!
I have never made bubble tea before, but recently my friend Lauren from Mom Home Guide shared a post on How to Make Thai Bubble Tea and a Matcha Bubble Tea. And, you can find links for all of the items you need to make them in her post. I tried the Thai Bubble Tea last weekend and SERIOUSLY it was SO good. And the boba she has in her post is sold on Amazon and it is so soft and not too chewy (which I prefer).
Shop:
I’ve been looking to update my Shampoo and Conditioner and I keep hearing about how much everyone loves Olaplex! So, I purchased the No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo, No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner and a Deep Conditioner, the No. 3 Hair Perfecter. I love all three! The bottles aren’t huge, but when I read the reviews everyone said a little goes a long way and it is true! They’re on Sephora’s ‘Clean List’, which makes me happy!
I had a fun trip to Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago to get some items to decorate our Master Bedroom with! We got new bedroom furniture last March, right around when Covid hit and I haven’t had a chance until now to start decorating the room. I hope to share a blog post with before and after photos once I wrap up the decorating!
Four – Latest Books & Shows
Now that the kids are back in school, I’ve been listening to more audio and I’ve caught up on my Podcasts from the last 5 months.
In Five Years by Rebecca Serle
LOVED this book… I would have never guessed the ending. Wow! I love the friendship between Dannie and Bella. This book had many highs and lows and once I got to the middle of it, I couldn’t put it down. There are some really good lines in this book, I need to go back and highlight them. Def. recommend!!
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (Hunger Games #0) by Suzanne Collins
Oh, did I love me some Hunger Games when that book series first came out. I was excited when another book was released with more details about Coriolanus Snow’s childhood and how he moved into more power and eventually became President Snow in the books we read several years ago.
Open Book, Jessica Simpson (Audio)
I started listening to Jessica Simpson’s book and she is so moving in the audio, definitely LISTEN to this book if you can! Some of the stories that Jessica tells in this book were really moving… her love for her cousin Sarah and the tragic ending of her life (which, Jessica brought me to tears when I listened to this part of the book), what happened to her as a child from a family friend, how she bounced back from being rejected from the Mickey Mouse Club, her relationship with Nick Lachey, her Christianity and so much more. Such a beautiful read and she shows so much emotion in the audio version that I don’t think I would have taken away as much as I did from this book if I had physically read it.
And, as for shows…
Little Fires Everywhere
I read this book a couple of months ago and I was excited to watch the series. It was REALLY good… both Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington were a great duo in it and the teens were all fantastic, too!
Five – Pixi
Shop This Post:
Pixi just keeps the packages coming and this month’s package did not disappoint! I received a cute Pixi hand bag along with some of their popular cosmetics.
Endless Shade Stick – Sometimes I’m all about an eye shadow stick! It is easier than powder, just swipe it on and you’re set! Pixi has these in several different shades and they don’t smudge or crease!
LipLift Max – This lip gloss does just what it says, it perks up your lips and gives them a hint of color.
Large Lash Mascara – Hands down, Pixi has mascara mastered! This mascara will glide on without clumps and give you large and full lashes.
Summer Glow Palette – Aren’t the colors in this palette gorgeous? They’re perfect for the late summer into Fall!
I hope everyone has a nice and relaxing weekend!
