Here is how to do a Quick 5 Minute Kitchen Clean:
Now, remember… this is a QUICK 5 minute kitchen clean. DON’T get hung up on the larger details, this is just to get your kitchen tidied up so it looks presentable in the morning. Basics such as putting away dishes instead of leaving them to ‘hang out’ in the sink are habits you need to form if you haven’t already. In our house we have one person that cooks dinner and the other person cleans up. We don’t leave the dishes sitting in the sink, we get them put away after we eat. If you stay on top of your kitchen, then doing this 5 minute kitchen clean should be a breeze. Let’s get started! (And, download the printable to hang on your refrigerator HERE!)
Wipe Down All Kitchen Counters and Kitchen Sink
Wiping down all of the kitchen counters, the sink, faucet and handles is a great practice to get into doing each night. Just think about all the germs, crumbs, etc. that may be hiding out and that you’ll wipe away to reveal clean and sparkling countertops in the morning!
Wipe Down Kitchen Table
Wipe down your kitchen table and any placemats. I use placemats that I can scrub clean, but if you have cloth ones you can shake them out or launder them as needed. We keep fresh flowers on our kitchen table, so I’ll use this time to freshen up the water in the vase.
Sweep the Kitchen Floor
Once the countertops and kitchen table are clean, it is time to tackle the floor! I would do just a quick sweep, but you may need to wipe down any problems areas where food may have dropped or where a pet may have tracked in some footprints. Our cat Rose sheds, so a quick sweep of the floor around the floorboards helps to get the hair up and as a result, it helps with my kids allergies. What I love about Art of Green products is that they are 98% naturally derived and leave no harsh chemicals behind for your kids or pets!
Keep Kitchen Counters Clear of Clutter
If you have a little extra time, clear the clutter off of your kitchen counters. Put it away in a drawer and go through it when you have time or if it is something you can toss, do it now.
Take Out Kitchen Trash
Last, take out the kitchen trash so your kitchen smells fresh and clean the next morning. I wipe down our trash can lid and barrel with the Art of Green lavender powerful cleaning wipes. The lavender scent is delightful!
