The Diffuser Blend this month is the Love & Spice Diffuser Blend, which will evoke feelings of romance and warmth as the days get cooler. I whipped it up in THIS essential oils diffuser I found off Amazon. It comes in several different colors and I love its compact size and neutral color. It worked nicely at diffusing the Love & Spice Diffuser Blend throughout the room in my home.

 

 

Recipe #1: Winter Woods Candle

I was excited to see a couple of recipes for candles in this month’s box. I’ve been wanting to switch to safer candle choices, given that most of my family has allergies and asthma. I never considered making them myself, but this Simply Earth recipe box has shown me how easy it is to make my own candles at home! For the Winter Woods Candle you’ll need 1/3 cup of soy wax, 1 tablespoon of beeswax, 1 tablespoon of solid coconut oil, essential oils (Lime, Pine and Nutmeg), a cotton candle wick and a small 2-3 oz jar.

 

 

To make the Winter Woods Candle:

  1. In a double boiler, melt soy wax, beeswax and coconut oil together.
  2. Once mixture has melted, remove from heat. Add essential oils and stir to mix.
  3. Place candle wick in center of your jar and pour in wax while propping the wick upright. Place two pencils in-between the wick to keep it in place while the candle cools. Allow to cool.
  4. To use, trim wick and light candle.

 

The Winter Woods candle has a light wintery scent that it perfect to burn on cool days. The scent is warming, uplifting and helps neutralize the air.

 

 

Recipe 2: Love Candle

This recipe box includes recipes for not just one candle, but two different candles. The Love Candle uses similar ingredients, to the Winter Woods candle. You’ll need 1/2 cup of soy wax, 1/4 tablespoon beeswax, 2/3 tablespoon solid coconut oil, essential oil (Love), cotton candle wick and a small 2-3 oz jar.

 

 

To make the Love Candle:

  1. In a double boiler, melt soy wax, beeswax and coconut oil together
  2. Once mixture has melted, remove from heat. Add essential oils and stir to mix.
  3. Place candle wick in center of jar or mold. Pour in wax while propping wick upright. Allow too cool.
  4. To use, trim wick and light candle.

 

The Love candle is perfect to burn right before and during a date night at home. It helps to evoke feelings of romance and warmth!
