Hi everyone!! I hope you are all having a good week. I don’t have an outfit to share with you this week, but I have Kellyann from This Blonde’s Shopping Bag as a guest poster today in my absence. I have known Kellyann for several years and we even met a few years ago while I was vacationing in Orlando! Kellyann is such a sweetheart and always has the best arm candy/accessories and the right touch of bright colors in her outfits. Happy Thursday, friends! Today I am thrilled to be filling in for my friend Carrie as she soaks up summer with her family. While I’ve been following Carrie for quite some time, I actually got to meet her IRL when she and her precious family vacationed at Disney in June, 2019! She’s just as sweet and real as she appears here – I love a genuine person!
Let’s get to today’s look. You might remember when I shared this dress in blue. Honestly, I adored the dress as soon as I put it on. So imagine my surprise when I asked my husband what he thought and he said he didn’t really like it. What??? I was just sure the minute he saw me he’d say it was a nice dress.
I pressed him for more details. What was it he didn’t like? The fit? The color? What could it be???? Of course he felt like he was in a no-win situation (like when you ask, does this make me look fat?). But I just wanted to know since it was a dress I liked so much. He finally said it was the color, it looked blah or faded. Well, it was light blue and he is color blind but I actually liked the light blue.
One of the reasons I ordered the dress in the first place was to bring it on vacation with us and wear it on Father’s Day. I hardly wanted to wear a dress my husband didn’t particularly like. I had imagined wearing it to brunch at some yummy restaurant in Nashville where mimosas would flow freely! Ha!
Long story short, I returned the dress. Father’s Day in Nashville turned out to be different than what I expected, there was no brunch and no mimosas. It was fun all the same and we spent a good part of the day outside. Here’s what I wore on Father’s Day.
Dress – I own it in 4 colors!
I ended up ordering the dress again during Prime Day – but this time I got in white. What’s not to love about a little white dress?
This one is so good. It’s got such sweet details and the fabric is a linen blend. It’s well made, has pockets, and a side zip. It comes in 5 colorways so if you’re not a fan of white or blue you have other options.
So welcome to my closet, little white dress. I adore you and I am not asking my husband’s opinion this time.
