Happy Friday Everyone!
One – Latest Happenings
Happy Friday, friends! I typically do my Friday Five post on the last week of the month, but I’m planning to take next week off from blogging, so I’m posting this a little early. What have we been up to here? I got all of our Christmas decor up over the weekend, because we are having Autumn’s friends over for a cookie decorating and a hot cocoa party for her birthday. I thought the house would look so cozy and festive with the decorations up for her party. Saturday night after I finished decorating, we celebrated with some charcuterie, Petite Petit wine and we finished the latest season of Handmaid’s Tale. Isn’t this tree cutting board so cute? I found it in the Target dollar spot.
Brian and I went on a date night and got to have some frozen cocktails at Narwhal’s Crafted. I had this on my summer bucket list and then it got bumped to my fall bucket list and we finally went! They had some fall flavors and I tried their Pumpkin Spice White Russian and a couple other drinks. It is fun, because you can order a few small sized drinks on a board and try a few flavors at once! There is a nacho restaurant next-door to Narwhal’s called Loaded Elevated Nachos and you can order from them and they’ll bring your order next door to Narwhal’s! I got the Buffalo Chicken Nachos that were served on homemade potato chips. It was so good!
I got a fun shipment from Magnolia Bakery and it was SO tasty! I got two of their cupcakes and two cartons of their world famous Banana Pudding!! OHHH, the pudding was like nothing I’ve ever had… it was DELICIOUS!
Autumn had her shadow day at the Lutheran high school with two of her school friends. I can’t believe she is going to be a FRESHMAN next year and I’ll have a senior too!!!
Autumn’s 8th grade photo!
We took Nathan out to dinner for seafood while Autumn had a retreat and he got crab legs. They were SO big, I had to get a photo!
I usually like to take a few fall walks once the leaves start to turn after my half marathon training is over. I only got the chance to go on one walk, but it was a good one! The leaves were starting to turn and there were so many pretty fall colors to see while walking.
Annnd, I had my first Starbucks Holiday drink! I love their Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte and I was bad and added whip to it. But, I was so glad they brought it back this year! Yay! Brian went in the morning before he left for work and brought back two snowman sugar cookies for the teens. They were excited!
Two – Halloween Recap
Halloween was a bit of a downer this year. Nathan was sick. I stopped by my mom’s house and she had some of my favorite Halloween candies for me and some things for the teens. Autumn had a great Halloween, she got to go to a friend’s house for a Reformation dinner and then she trick or treated with a few girls in her class. They were Sesame Street characters and made their own costumes.
Three – Fall Outlet Mall & Fall Trader Joe’s Trip
I go to the outlet mall twice a year, once in the fall and then again in the spring. I was really late in getting there this year and there was a lot of holiday shoppers out already (dressed in Christmas PJ’s, etc.! LOL!). I found this adorable plaid top and green velvet skirt at LOFT Outlet and I know I’ll be wearing it A LOT for casual holiday gatherings.
At LOFT Outlet I also found this neutral gray leopard top and it has some metallic threading in the insides of the leopard spots, which is so cute. I have an emerald colored thin turtleneck that has button details on the sleeves layered under it that I also brought home. Then, at American Eagle Factory I found this REALLY cute emerald colored hoodie and OHHHH I am kicking myself for not taking another one home (they had multiple colors) with me. It is SO LUSH, the perfect amount of oversized, covers my bum (so perfect for leggings!) and it was probably one of my favorite items I found that day. It has some cute ribbed details on the hem line and sleeve cuffs too.
I love to stop in Trader Joe’s at least once during the fall to pick up my FAVORITE Roasted Turkey & Sweet Potato Burrito (it is like Thanksgiving dinner in a burrito!) and the Beauty Advent Calendar!
Four – Latest Books I’ve Read & Shows I’ve Watched

Ok, I am so EXCITED to say that I’ve finally finished this summer book— 28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand. Oh, it was SO good! Mallory inherits a beach house from her aunt and hosts her brother’s bachelor party on Labor Day weekend. At this party, Mallory meets Jake and they fall for each other. This entire book is about Mallory and Jake, who get together on Labor Day weekend EVERY year to have a one-weekend-per-year affair. However, they go about their normal lives every other day of the year. However, this arrangement starts to take a toll on them year after year, yet they can’t seem to move past this Same Time Next Year arrangement. I don’t want to give away any details, but this book had me doing an ugly cry at the end. The ending was tough, but I could see how another book could come out of it.
We finished Handmaid’s Tale season 5 and it was SO good. However, the last episode left A LOT up in the air. We are planning to watch the new season of The Crown next!
