I have been seeing these ADORABLE Holiday Iced Coffee Beer Cans with vinyl cut outs on them all over social media. Since I have a Cricut Joy at home, I thought why not save the money and create my own at home! By creating these at home, not only do I save money, but I can create them however I want (the Cricut clipart library is HUGE!). And, what better gift for the coffee lover in your life? Just add some cute holiday straws or mini ornaments inside the glass along with a bag of their favorite holiday coffee mix!
I made two different designs, one with gingerbread men and tiny red hearts and a retro holiday tree design with pink trees with gold outlines and tiny snow circles around the trees. I looked on Etsy for ideas and then brainstormed what I wanted to do by looking at what holiday designs the Cricut Clipart Library had online (some clipart designs are free, most are 99 cents or they have a monthly membership fee that gives you full access to unlimited clipart downloads).

For this project I used my daughter’s Cricut Joy, which is perfect for small designs. I have a full sized Cricut AND I have a Silhouette machine (the vinyl machine I started with!). I would say that if you’re new to crafting with vinyl, that the Cricut Joy will be the perfect (and most inexpensive!) machine for you to start with on your journey.
Supplies Needed:
Cricut Joy (or other machine, a friend that will print vinyl for you or some Etsy shops will print/mail you vinyl)
Permanent Vinyl (White, Red, Pink & Gold)
If giving as gifts you may want to buy: Holiday coffee straws, mini ornaments (to put inside the glasses when gifting) and a bag of holiday ground or k-cup coffee for your coffee loving friend!
Open up your Cricut (or Silhouette) software and select Clipart for your designs. You’ll need to figure out how big you want them to be on the glass and you’ll resize them in the software.
If you are using multiple colors, you’ll need to create layers in the software and print one color at a time on your machine. Then, you’ll peel the vinyl away from your design. Don’t forget the tiny pieces, such as eyes, buttons, etc.
Stick the transfer tape OVER your vinyl, rub really good around the edges of your design. Peel the paper away from your transfer tape. Place the transfer tape (with your design on it) on the glass and carefully remove the transfer tape. Your design will be adhered to the glass.
Repeat the process with the rest of the gingerbread men and hearts.
For the glasses with the trees, I placed all of the pink trees on the glass first, then I placed the gold outlines of the trees and then the white snowflake circles. It had more steps, but it wasn’t difficult.

I’ve been enjoying these fun coffee cups! They are safe on the top rack of your dishwasher or you can hand wash them. They make the perfect holiday gifts for the coffee lover!
