I’m back with my second Let’s Look post. Today’s theme is a fun one, I’ll be sharing ‘What’s In My Grocery Cart’ from a few of my favorite stores.
Shay from Mix and Match Mama is doing this monthly link up with her friend Erika and they give you a prompt for each month of the year to “look” at different aspects of your lives, to blog about it and share your blog post on her link up.
So, let’s get started… Let’s Look: What’s In Our Grocery Carts {March Prompt}
One of my FAVORITE stores to visit is Trader Joe’s. I don’t get there often, because there isn’t one super close to me. I try to go every few months, just because there are so many unique items in the store and you can’t beat their floral section. Today I happened to snag three bunches of their daffodils and they were SO pretty on my kitchen table.
Trader Joe’s always has new products to go with the season and it is fun to see what they have on the shelf. I don’t remember seeing these in the past, but I snapped a photo to share them with you. Limone Alfredo Sauce?? Sounds very summery! And cannolis are one of my all time favorite Italian desserts, I would love to try this Cannoli Dip with some mini chocolate chips sprinkled on top! I don’t always grab everything that catches my eye, because some of these aren’t super healthy… so, I try to grab 1 or 2 treats to share with the family and then I focus on picking up the healthy items!
I always pick up a few items from Trader Joe’s for lunch. I typically split it all in half and enjoy two days of lunches from them. Their Mozzarella Tomato Salad is my fave and I almost always get it, but the Vegetable Samosa Burrito and Balela were new to me and I really enjoyed them!
My go-to grocery store is Schnucks. This store is mainly in just 4 states, which are Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. They have THE BEST DONUTS. I don’t even go to Dunkin, their donuts are bigger and much yummier! I love their chocolate long johns… I get one almost every week as my treat for doing grocery shopping, because I’m not a huge fan of it. They just got this Picadeli Salad Bar and it is the bomb! They have different lettuces, salad toppings, dressings, falafel, meats, cheeses and a variety of pasta, potato and noodle salads. There is one of these Picadeli Salad Bars at Nathan’s school he will be going to in the fall too! It is a new concept and the company brings in the food, instead of the grocery store chain handling it. I’ll get myself a salad to go for lunch sometimes and it is always something to look forward to later in the day!
You all know I LOVE coffee… Ashley from Making Life Marvelous told me about this International Delight Cold Foam Creamer in a can. OH! It is SO dang good. I love to add some of the Silk Oatmeal Cookie Oat Creamer to my coffee with ice and then I spray some of the cold foam creamer on top. It is heavenly!
Next up we have Dierbergs, which is mainly a St. Louis chain, but they do have 2 stores in Illinois and one in the Ozarks. This store is a little more pricey than Schnucks, but I try to pop in once a month to look at all the fun little extras. On my last visit I saw this cute little baby pineapple AND I stocked up on my FAVORITE salsa right now, Red Cactus Sweet (thanks to Ashley for telling me about it).
I went to the new Dierbergs where they tore down the old Crestwood Plaza mall (it is SO crazy how malls are just a dying breed!). They’re building these cute little two floored homes and every time I visit, they have more and more of them done. There is a ton of them and they all look a little different.
Ok, LAST we have Target, where I’m always adding items from the Dollar Section to my cart. They just had all the Spring stuff out last time and it was all SO tempting.
On a final note… I’ll leave you with a photo of my secret snack drawer. Ha, ha! I am always on the lookout to stock it up with some of my favorite or new treats. I haven’t tried these Nutella Biscuits yet, have you? The Cadbury Egg box is covering up two chocolate caramel bars from Casey’s. We don’t have Casey’s in St. Louis, but when we go on road trips I stock up on my favorites! Autumn loves Casey’s too!
If you’re interested in following along, the prompt for April is… Our Daily Quiet Time/Prayer Time. I’d love to see you join in, I think this will be a lot of fun!
