I’m back with my monthly Let’s Look post. I’ll be sharing ‘Our Summer Closet Staples’.
Shay from Mix and Match Mama is doing this monthly link up with her friend Erika and they give you a prompt for each month of the year to “look” at different aspects of your lives, to blog about it and share your blog post on her link up.
So, let’s get started… Let’s Look: Our Summer Closet Staples {May Prompt}
Shop These Sandals:
Well, this summer I needed some new sandals… it had been awhile since I refreshed this part of my closet. I have always had really good luck with Target sandals. They’re easy to try on (because, I’m always in Target with my teen girl!), comfortable and they always have a trendy style for less. Here is what I got:
Jasmine Pearl Slide Sandals – These are SO cute and I have a lot of jewelry with pearls that I wear during the summer months. They also make a little statement with all the pearls, but it isn’t over the top. These will be so cute with summer dresses or when I wear my favorite summer colors— blue and white!
Sarafina Woven Two-Band Slide Sandals with Memory Foam Insole (Click HERE for White, Click HERE for Brown) – I loved these sandals so much when I tried them on in the store that I left with TWO colors. I told you I love Target sandals! Ha! These are SUPER comfy with the memory foam insole and they stay on your foot really well!
Jonie Ankle Strap Footbed Sandals – I really wanted a pair of sandals that I could wear when I needed to do a lot of walking, or just the extra comfort/ease of a back strap. These are SO cute with almost anything and they come in multiple colors (I really want them in black!).
Shop These Sandals:
Amazon is also a great resource for sandals and they’re easy to return, especially if they offer UPS Drop Off or Kohl’s return. I purchased these two sandals before our trip to Scottsdale. The Open Toe Espadrille Platform (it’s a very low platform, almost flat) I LOVE, but it was making annoying farting noises while I walked. I found a lady that gave a GREAT sandal tip in the reviews where you put a small piece of velcro on the bottom of the sandal and then it won’t suction to your foot and make those annoying noises. How BRILLIANT! You can find the velcro strips HERE on Amazon and I just apply them vertically to the inside of the middle part of the sandal. No more fart noises! I’m wearing the espadrille sandals in the photo above. The other pair of sandals I got is squared toe with a woven knit sandal and the neutral brown goes great with a lot of my shorts.
Shop Tee + Shorts Here:
Another Summer Closet Staple is easy and breeze tee’s and short sets. Abercrombie & Fitch is killing it with their Premium Polished Easy Tank (not see through, hides bra straps, long enough to tuck in AND super cute!) AND their Linen-Blend Pull-On Shorts. I wore this combo to my massage and to the pool when in Scottsdale. The shorts are lined, which is a plus and come in several different patterns/colors. I want them ALL! Can I just make these my school uniform this summer?!
Shop These Sunscreen:
I have tried out a lot of sunscreens and I have TWO personal faves that I’m going to share with you. I’ve restocked both of these MANY times and they’ve never disappointed me. Sunscreen is SO important and I wear it everyday on my face, but I need to be better about applying it to my hairline, neck, tips of my ears and hands (when I’m driving!). It is a great way to protect your skin AND slow down aging. In the summer, it is even more important since we are out in the sun even more. Let me tell you why these two sunscreens are my faves:
Tula Protect + Glow SPF 30 – This is my favorite sunscreen for my face, because it is slightly tinted and it smells SO good. It offers protection from the damaging effects of pollution & blue light—a must have for indoors and outdoors. The ingredients have probiotic extracts, pineapple and papaya and it ISN’T greasy nor will it clog your pores. You can SAVE 15% off using code CURLYCRAFTYMOM!
Supergroup! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 – This has been a favorite sunscreen for me during the HUMID parts of the month, because not only is it a great sunscreen, but it doubles as a primer with a natural finish. This sunscreen is 100% invisible, weightless and scentless.
Shop Cover Up:
I wanted to find a new versatile swim suit cover up that would work with most of my swimsuits and I found this one on Amazon. It looks like it is 2 pieces, but it is one piece and it’s really easy to get on and off. It also makes your tummy look slim, which I like… since I always eat too much on vacation! Ha! It comes in A LOT of colors, I would love it in black too!
Well, that is all I have for today. I’m keeping it a little short, because we have SO many end of the year things going on right now ESPECIALLY with a SENIOR who is graduating on FRIDAY! He turns 18 on the 17th of this month. Man, I’m feeling ALL the emotions right now and I’m not sure what to make of them… but, I’m SO proud of him!
If you’re interested in following along, the prompt for June is… Our Summer Schedule. I’d love to see you join in, I think this will be a lot of fun!
