Today I wanted to share a delicious recipe I tried from off of Pinterest for my Pinterest party that I had with my friends a couple of weeks ago. You know what is wonderful about this recipe? Its DELICIOUS and easy! My friends finished the entire bowl of brownie batter AND they all wanted the recipe. This would be good for a Pinterest party (ha!), a food day at work or just as something to munch on at any time since you can easily pull it out of the fridge when hungry.
There is a lot of possibilities for dippers:
- Strawberries
- Marshmallows
- Nilla Cookies
- Graham Crackers
- Pound Cake (think Sara Lee!) cut up in cubes
- Pretzels
- Brownies cut up in cubes
- Cheesecake
- Rice Krispies
- Slice up a frozen banana
- Oreo or other cookies
The brownie batter dip contains no eggs and it has the consistency of peanut butter, so it spreads nicely without running. I added some chocolate chips to the top of it for a garnish.
I think my favorite dipper was the fresh strawberries, I am a sucker for strawberry and chocolate!
You could even add some fun toothpicks to the tops of the dippers to make it easier for your guests. I wish I would have had more time, I could have added some wasabi tape to the tops of the toothpicks to pretty them up.
I am definitely putting this on my make again list. :d
Here is the recipe:
Brownie Batter Dip
Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese, light or regular, softened
1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
5 tablespoons cocoa powder, regular or Dutch-process
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-4 tablespoons milk
Chocolate chips for garnish (optional)
Pretzels, strawberries, marshmallows, graham crackers, animal crackers, or apples for dipping
Directions:
Using an electric mixer, whip the cream cheese and butter together until light and fluffy, about 1-2 minutes. Add the powdered sugar and mix well. Add the flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, vanilla and 2 tablespoons milk. Mix until smooth.
Add additional powdered sugar or milk if needed, until the desired consistency is reached. You want the dip to be soft enough to easily dip a pretzel without breaking it, but stiff enough to hold its shape and not be runny.
Garnish with chocolate chips, if desired.
