I’m back today with my March Currently post. I always enjoy updating y’all on my life happenings.
Facebook Live on Hometalk!
It’s OFFICIAL! I am going to be on Hometalk Live THIS Thursday at 7:00 p.m. EST! I hope you can tune in! I will be sharing how to make fabric pots and also how to monogram one of them.
Blog Survey Results
Thanks to all of you that took my Blog Survey! It is still open (click HERE) if you want to take it still. I was really excited to receive all positive feedback, I wasn’t really sure what to expect!
It seems your favorite posts are DIY/Crafts and Fashion (it was tied) and a few of you really enjoy my Currently and Recipe posts! Silhouette and Exercise posts got the least points.
Most of you said you’d prefer to see sponsored posts once a week and after that it was preferred once a month. I try hard to keep it to once a week, unless scheduling prevents that!
I was REALLY shocked that most of you follow Curly Crafty Mom via Email… Bloglovin’ was second and Feedly third.
Most of you follow Curly Crafty News… which I really need to get back to publishing!
The biggest social media platform that you all follow me on is Pinterest, which really surprised me, too. After that is is Instagram. Facebook and Twitter had a tie after that.
Thursday Fashion Files was your absolute favorite repeating post. Currently and 12 Months of Goals were faves after that.
The majority of my readers are older than me, which I was surprised by, too!
Most of you visit every time I have a new post. 🙂 Thank you!
Some of the comments left by y’all were that I still seem true to myself and you enjoy getting to know the real me. Some mentioned that you were motivated by my marathon training. And, a lot of you mentioned you loved my fashion AND DIY/craft posts and would like to see more!
Cave Tools Marketing Salad Spinner & Green Well Salad
Cave Tools was kind enough to send me a salad spinner to try out. This is one of those kitchen tools that I’ve always wanted, but just never spent money on. Wow! I used it on a bag of lettuce that was already washed in its packaging… but, yeah… I think I will definitely be ALWAYS washing bagged lettuce in the future. The water was definitely not clear after I washed it in my spinner! This spinner is also a dream for when you want to whip together a fruit salad. You can put grapes, strawberries, blueberries, etc. in it and spin the fruit dry (and it’s nice and rinsed!). The salad I made is from the Bread & Wine book and is called the Green Well salad. It is SO, SO, SO yummy!
You can receive 15% off using the coupon code SALAD15!
Half Training
I am in the hardest part of my half training right now, where the long runs are LONG. My half marathon is coming up in April! This will be my TENTH half marathon! I am working hard towards my 2:00 PR goal, but it is hard to keep a 8:50 pace on these longer runs! I have ran 11 miles at that pace and I have a couple more long runs to do before race day. I am not sure if I’ll hit my PR goal, but I am really hoping I can PR below my 2:06 time. I’m going to try my hardest!
I have really missed training with Fleet Feet, but there was just no way I could have done it for winter training during the school year. My daughter has three weekends of dance competitions alone and I can’t miss those on top of everything else. I am considering training with Fleet Feet for half marathon training this summer (I will miss being on the full training group), but I will say I do enjoy sleeping in on Saturdays. 😉 But, I miss a lot of my old running mates! I’m still not sure if I will ever do another marathon. If I had to guess, I’d say… probably not. It was such a great experience, but WHOA… it was a lot of work.
Recently I was able to try these Greek Yogurt products from HASK. I already LOVE HASK products, but the idea of rich greek yogurt bottled up and infused with essential fruit extracts made me especially excited to try these products. I tried the Fig & Honey Hydrating Collection, which is for dry hair. I get highlights and sometimes it dries my hair out, so the vitamin-rich fig helped and the nutrient filled honey even gave my hairs a nice shine! The deep conditioning mask was also great for moisturizing my hair!
These products are free of sulfates, phthalates, gluten AND drying alcohol. They are available exclusively at Walgreens.
Reading
Sarah’s Key by Kristin Scott Thomas
This book takes place in Paris during the Jewish Vel’ d’Hiv’ roundup in 1942. Sarah was in her parents apartment and locks her brother in a cupboard and keeps the key while the Paris officers take her and her parents to a camp. She promises her brother she’ll be back to ‘rescue’ him in a few hours. Sarah escapes the camp, but you’ll have to read the story to find out what happens. This story also flashes to 2002, where Julia starts working on a news article about the Jewish Vel’ d’Hiv’ roundup, which has been mostly hidden in France history. Julia finds a link to Sarah’s history with her own husband’s family and starts to dig deeper and question her marriage and life. I wish it had ended differently, but I would spoil the book if I mentioned how I wish it ended. This book was sad, but I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to watch the film!
Out of the Spin Cycle: Devotions to Lighten Your Mother Load – Jen Hatmaker
I’ve still been reading this devotional. I am about halfway through it.
Bread and Wine: A Love Letter to Life Around the Table – Shauna Niequist
I’ve tried two more recipes from this book and shared them on my IG Stories! I tried the Green Well Salad and the Blueberry Crisp. Both were winners! I’ve been having a lot of fun trying recipes in this book.
Bible Journaling Book Review
I have been wanting to get into Bible journaling and when I was offered to review the Complete Gide to Bible Journaling by Joanne Fink and Regina Yoder, I didn’t hesitate! This book goes over the tools and techniques, but my favorite chapters were the eleven Artist Profiles… these chapters introduce an artist and her style of Bible journaling. This book is full color and shows pages and pages of journaling examples. If you’re looking to get into Bible journaling like me, or if you are just looking for some ideas to keep you going… this book is for you!
Lauren from Mom Home Guide is also sharing her Currently post today!
Full Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. Cave Tools, HASK and Bible Journaling gifted me products in exchange for this post. All opinions are 100% mine.
