I have spent a lot of time this weekend working on the 2nd Annual St. Patty’s Scavenger Hunt for my sweet kids. Last year was the first year we did the scavenger hunt and it was fairly low key. This year, I spent a lot more time on it… because, it was just so much fun!! I decided to pretty up the scavenger hunt cards by finding some St. Patty’s Day fonts on Pinterest and instead of attaching them with double-sided tape to the foam clover leafs (Dollar Tree) I tied them with gold ribbon. I am really addicted to chalkboard fonts right now.
I cannot wait to see the kids faces when they find each one of these cute little scavenger cards.
I have a Cricut that I got for Christmas and I have been to scared to try to figure it out just yet, so I used some scrapbook scissors to give the cards a pretty roped edge.
I love how Dollar Tree has these foam clover leaves every year. This year they had different colors so now I have 4 different styles of foam clover leaves.
There are a few gifts that Leprechaun Nickel is bringing this year and I thought it would make it even more fun if I wrapped them in some green paper. Well, I found some green chevron paper at Target and I fell in love. After wrapping the gifts, I remembered I had some leftover burlap from when I made my burlap bubble wreath. So, of course, I thought why not make some burlap bows! I was really excited with how they turned out and how they looked against the green chevron paper. I think I’ll keep them to use in the future after the scavenger hunt is over! I love to reuse bows. I even cut some of the chevron wrapping paper down to make place mats!
I am really good at making BIG bows, but little bows… ahhh, I really need to read up a tutorial on how to. But, I think these turned out ok. Not that the kids will even notice, they will have the presents ripped open in no time flat.
Here are the presents, Leprechaun Nickel can’t wait to hide them around the house!
And, to just give you another peak. Here is one of the surprises the kids will find with one of the clues. Nathan is always asking me for a hundred dollar bill, well how about a million dollar chocolate bar? With, a bonus dollar bill? I think so!
Do you think they’ll see the dollar bill? Do you?
Stay tuned, I am planning to surprise them with the St. Patty’s Scavenger Hunt this coming Saturday since I am planning to run the race and see the parade on St. Patty’s Day (plus they will be at their Dad‘s). And, not only will they be surprised with a Scavenger Hunt, but I am planning a special Leprechuan breakfast, too!
