Since I don’t have the kids on St. Patrick’s Day weekend this year, I decided I would do some festivities with them this weekend. I decided I wanted to do a St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt, and hide shamrocks all over the house (just 8 or so) with messages leading them to the next hidden shamrock. We will also do a craft. Anyway, I have a lot of troll dolls from when I was a kid, I used to love them as a kid. I have a Leprechaun troll doll, and Nathan is really into money right now so he named his Leprechaun Nickel.
Well, I’ve been telling the kids that Leprechaun Nickel would be bringing them their first ever scavenger hunt this weekend. Nathan asked me if he could touch Leprechaun Nickel, if this was similar to Elfie and if it was bad to touch him. I got some tongs out of the kitchen and said you can only touch him with the tongs if you need to move him. I explained to him that Leprechaun Nickel was magical just like Elfie…so on and so forth.
So, Nathan grabs Leprechaun Nickel with the tongs to move him into his room. Then… I hear Nathan say…
“Mom, why is there a price tag on the bottom of Leprechaun Nickel’s foot? Did you buy him at a store?”
And, I thought to myself. Darn 5 year olds!!!!! Why do they have to ask SO many questions?! LOL. Of course, the entire night I was quizzed on how could Leprechaun Nickel be SO magical if he has a price tag on him, is from a store, and only worth $7.50. And, maybe Elfie must be MORE magical because he doesn’t have a price tag and he must really be from the North pole. Oh, kids.
Then I thought, maybe I’ll remove the sticker when he’s asleep. But… then, that may stir up another million questions.
