So, what do you do with a beautiful gingerbread house that you have sitting around in the kitchen after all of the other Christmas decorations are put away? Well, Laura, who has twin boys, has let them smash theirs the last couple of years. At first I thought, what a crazy idea… but, then… this year, I thought. Why not? Here is Nathan right before the house comes down!
Hmph. Ok, I must admit. I was just a tiny bit disappointed. Really? Just one hit and the entire house falls down? Did I not build a super sturdy gingerbread house? Well, I guess it stayed standing for the entire month of December, so I can’t complain too much.
Of course, it took a split second for Nathan to ‘get it’. But, once he realized he had DESTROYED the beautiful gingerbread house, he was quite excited. He was jumping up and down!! (Yeah, yeah… we don’t get to destroy things at Lowes Build and Grow!)

Autumn finally finished cutting my grass with her play mower, and realized she had missed out on all of the excitement. I let her hammer the smaller pieces into little bits of gingerbread sand. Did I mention it was almost 60 that day? On New Year’s Eve!
