I have been planning to take the kids to Boo at the Zoo and decided that tonight would be the best night to go considering the weather was BEAUTIFUL and we didn’t have work the next day. Lets just say it was PRETTY crowded, but we still had a really good time. Here is a huge spider we saw while waiting in line to get our tickets.
Here are the decorations when you first come into the zoo. It was really too crowded to get the kids in a photo in this area, but I loved the huge pumpkins.
The first thing we did, was the Wal-Mart trick or treat line. This might have been one of the kids favorite parts of the night. They got candy, glow in the dark keychain, bracelets (glow in dark, Halloween colors, twisty skulls), pumpkin cups, bugs, crayons, root beer samples, smores granola bar and other things that I probably forgot to mention.
It was exciting once it got dark, all of the decorations lit up before our very own eyes!

The last thing we did was the craft area. Both kids, especially Miss Auttie, enjoyed this a lot.

We had a really good time at Boo at the Zoo. When we left, the kids each got a brown sack with lots of candy in it. It even had Spiderman Candy Cigarettes, those little white sugar sticks that were popular when I was a kid. I don’t think we would go to Boo at the Zoo every year, but it is definitely a fun thing to do every couple of years with the kids. It was really different from Grants Farm’s Halloween fun that we went to last year. I do wish the Zoo would have had more animals to see, we really only saw the penquins because they had it all lit up. Both kids seemed to have fun, and both were asleep in the car on the way home.
