Today was exhausting because I had to wake up at 4:00 a.m. and be ready to be out the door by 5:15 a.m. to take Jeremi to the hospital for his eye surgery today. I am so glad my parents came to our house to watch the kids today. I have to get ready, feed Autumn on one side and pump on the other side (I do this every morning to get an extra bottle for her) and get the kids ready. We got to the hospital at 6:00 a.m. and Jeremi went in for his surgery from 7:00-8:00 a.m. He has type 1 diabetes and over time the blood vessels have weekend in the back of his eyes. He has been having laser treatments at the office but his right eye needed even more work this time so he had to be knocked out at the hospital. While he was knocked out I went to the cafeteria and got breakfast and then found my way back to the waiting room. I am so prone to getting lost so I was so proud of myself that I found my way back to where I needed to be. Whew! Then, when he was done I went into the outpatient recovery room and spoke to his doctor while he woke up. He may need bifocals after this surgery because it will weaken his vision. The doctor also said his eye will be blurry for a couple of days and to remind him of this so he is not alarmed. Jeremi woke up within 15 minutes but kept repeating the same thing about twenty times. Then, he kept asking if I had talked to the doctor and I said yes. It didn’t take long before he was fully awake, dressed and we went home. I then went into work at 11:45 and worked a half day. I am tired!!!
Nathan’s birthday gift arrived in the mail today from the May 2006 birthday swap I participated in with the Mature Mama’s. Thanks, Danica! Perfect gifts!
The gift was wrapped and even had a card on it when I pulled it out of the box. So sweet!
Of course, I made him open the card first!
Nathan loved the bumble bee on the card.
Nathan is quite skilled at unwrapping things now that he is almost 3.
The first item my little train lover looked at was a Thomas train movie (Go Figure!). It is such a nice Thomas movie, too, the other two Thomas movies we have are very old and the graphics aren’t as good. Nathan told Daddy to put it in the DVD player right now. haha.
Nathan is looking at the two books he got. I love the Thomas first reading book. The pictures are so colorful in it and each page has just 3-4 words so it’ll be a great book to practice reading with… and, I love the alphabet book too!! Books are great gifts!
The best smile I could get…
