Natural Beauty Diffuser Blend

The Diffuser Blend this month is the Natural Beauty Diffuser Blend, which has a combination of essential oils in it that will awaken your skin after all the dry air we are around in the winter. I recently purchased a larger essential oils diffuser for our family room (find it HERE), since it is such a large open space. It worked nicely at diffusing the Natural Beauty Diffuser Blend throughout the room in my home.

 

 

Recipe #1: DIY Shiny Pink Lip Balm

I am a total lip balm junkie and when I saw there was a recipe for not just lip balm, but SHINY pink lip balm in this recipe box, I squealed with delight! This DIY Shiny Pink Lip Balm makes your lips look great and it moisturizes them. You’ll need 1 teaspoon beeswax, 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil (solid), 1 tablespoon of castor oil, 1/2 teaspoon vegetable glycerin, 1/4 teaspoon beetroot powder, 10 drops Amyris Essential Oil, 2 lip balm tubes and a bowl of ice (optional).

 

 

To make the DIY Shiny Pink Lip Balm:

  1. In a double boiler, melt beeswax, coconut oil and castor oil together.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small separate bowl mix together vegetable glycerin and beetroot powder. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Once the oil mixture is melted, remove from heat. Add essential oils and stir.
  4. Add the glycerin mixture to the oils.
  5. Stir the mixture continuously as it cools. At first the mixture will remain separate. As the mixture cools, you’ll notice the glycerin and oil mixture start to combine. This can take 1-3 minutes. To speed up this process you can place your mixture in a bowl of ice to help cool it down.
  6. Once the mixtures are blended together but are still soft, poor them into the lip balm tubes.

To use: Apply to lips for a subtle pink shine.

 

 

Recipe 2: Grow & Flow Hair Mask

I was really intrigued by this month’s Grow & Flow Hair Mask, because it included a fresh cracked egg in it! Did you know that different parts of the egg have different benefits? If you have dry brittle hair, just use the yoke. If you have oily hair, use the egg whites. For normal and combination hair, the whole egg is best.

 

To make the Grow & Flow Hair Mask, you’ll need 1/2 tablespoon castor oil, 3 drops Beauty Within Essential Oil Blend, 2 drops Palmarosa Essential Oil, 1/2 tablespoon honey and 1 egg.

 

 

To make the Grow & Flow Hair Mask:

  1. Mix castor oil, honey and essential oils together.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg until it begins to froth.
  3. Add egg to oil mixture and stir well.
  4. Apply the mask to hair from root to ends.
  5. After 1 hour, wash your hair using cool or lukewarm water and a small amount of shampoo.
