Hi everyone!! I am going to be taking some breaks off and on this summer from posting on Thursday Fashion Files, so you may see a guest poster a couple times a month here until the fall. This week I have Suzy Turner from The Grey Brunette here to share her b/w outfit where she’s mixed some patterns/textures for such a fantastic look. Suzy is a new (to me!) blogger that brings a great fashion sense for women over forty all the way from Portugal! Be sure to stop by to visit her on her blog HERE and Instagram HERE.
I’m so thrilled to be here on Carrie’s blog today. Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Suzy Turner and I live in Portugal with my husband and four fur babies. Although originally from Yorkshire, I’ve lived in the Algarve since I was ten years old. I’m an author and lifestyle blogger and my current obsession is creating conceptual photography. I’m also mad about style and love to encourage women over 40 to have fun with it, and to wear whatever the heck they want to wear!
Which leads me on to my outfit. I had pondered for a little while about what to wear on Carrie’s blog and ended up choosing a pair of ankle-grazing checked trousers as the basis for my outfit. They’re both cute and quite versatile. I knew I wanted to have some fun with it, so I decided to pair them with a print you probably wouldn’t ordinarily combine with checks: polka dots! And then, over the top of the tank top is a crochet / lace kimono. Add in a pair of sexy ankle strap heels, a white handbag and some silver jewellery and the outfit is complete!
You could quite easily swap out the heels for a pair of trainers—I’m actually more of a trainers kinda gal myself, but for today’s look, I wanted something just a little dressier, for a change! After all, it’s not everyday you get to feature on Carrie’s fabulous blog!
