Hi everyone!! I hope you are all having a good week. I don’t have an outfit to share with you this week, but I have Lucy from Confessions of a Montreal Styling Diva as a guest poster today in my absence. Lisa is a fashion blogger and she is also a fashion teacher! She does not shy away from color or trying different styles. Lucy recently had a milestone birthday and I loved how she ended her post with this: Rather than dwelling on how to bring back the past, I’m celebrating how far I can go! You can check out Lucy’s Instagram HERE.
Also, Jill at Doused in Pink has an outfit to share, so be sure to stop by her blog. AND, we’d love to have you link up your latest summer fashion below. Now, I’ll let Kellyann speak…
Hi there, so happy to be here at Carrie’s! I love this place and linkup on the weekly. So when Carrie called out for blog hosts, I jumped on this! Why? Mainly because I love what Carrie does, and probably everyone else who hops over here, feels the same way…so, since we’re probably on the same wavelength- what a great community for me to get to know!
Here’s a bit about me…My name is Lucy and I live in Montreal, where I’m a Stylist and Fashion Teacher. I’m also a mom to 5 and I have 3 grandbabies. My husband and I have been married for 35 years. Now that you know a bit about me, I’m sure you’d rather me get into fashion though, since this is the forum for that!
I’m also a lover of vintage- and am big on thrifting and shopping my closet. Keeping it sustainable but with flair and creativity is something I love to do when it comes to styling. Over at my blog you can find me styling up all kinds of looks – I do this to inspire creativity and to unleash the possibilities and joy that dressing can offer.
My blog also addresses Ageism (read about Ageism HERE AND HERE), and the blockage that comes along with thinking to ‘dress for our age’; there are adverse consequences to falling for that trap.
And after all these pics here, you’ve probably guessed that print-mixing and colorful styling is my thing! I love to offer tips and tricks for great styling- especially if that pushes you out of your comfort zone a bit. I figure that if I can show you a bit of outrageous…maybe that will motivate you to try it out, even if just a bit!
Like I mentioned, I’m also a fashion teacher: History of Fashion, Textiles, Styling Levels, Fashion Culture and Society…and many more; (in both French and English since I’m in a bilingual city!). So for me it’s always a pleasure to talk shop and let you in on what’s up and coming as well as the ‘why’ in dressing, as well as fashion based on history. Oh yes, and of course, DIY’s! Love upcycling clothes ( I do this for projects with my design students as well!) Check out these pants made from a blanket:
But I don’t only love vintage and thrift- I’m in fashion remember- I love all clothes and fabrics! So basically any look that spikes creativity and looks great, no matter how simple or casual, works for me!
