I’m back with Recap Post 3 (my final post) from my Scottsdale, AZ recaps. In this post I’ll be sharing Tea Time in Old Town (with Jodie!), a little pool time I enjoyed at the Four Seasons Resort and a Western Themed dinner that Brian’s work hosted (it was REALLY cool!).
Jodie and her husband Rob picked me up from the Four Seasons Resort to take me over to Old Town for the day. Her husband Rob was SO sweet and took our photos (and even edited mine), we did a little browsing at the shops and then we had a fun tea time at a local tea place. Then Jodie and her husband took me back to my resort. They are both such kind people! This was my second time meeting Jodie and her husband, the first time I met them in my hometown of St. Louis.
We had tea time at this place called Tea Time Tea Merchants. I couldn’t believe how many varieties of tea they had, but I settled on my favorite which is Earl Grey Cream. Our menu cards had our names on them, which was a nice touch. I loved the fresh flowers in the class teapot.
My favorite part of the tea time (besides Jodie’s company and the delicious tea!) was the dessert spread. Every item from our lunch was from local delis, bakeries, etc. in the Old Town area. The macaroons were decorated with a 3D laser (how cool is that?) and I love the tea bag shaped sugar cookies with ribbon. Everything looked and tasted great!
After hanging out with Jodie, I took a little nap back in our room at the resort… then I got up and decided to sit by the pool and enjoy a pineapple martini and some chips with guac and salsa. The Four Seasons graciously refilled my guacamole after I gobbled it all up (it was that good, but I love me some guac!). I was going to get in the pool, but decided to people watch instead.
After that, I went back to our room to get ready for a Western Themed Dinner that Brian’s work was hosting. This was the last thing we did on the trip and it was so much fun! They told everyone to dress in western attire and I’m glad I wore boots, since we were literally right in the desert! I love this sunset photo that was taken of us.
At the dinner they had BBQ, apple cobbler and everyone got to select a hat and decorate it and then you could have your initials branded on it. The hat was a nice keepsake to take home!
We finished the evening off by listening to a live band that was really good. Funny story: one of the ladies on the trip had dated one of the band members back in the past! What a small world it is! I really enjoyed Scottsdale and I hope to come back someday. I am glad I can check it off my bucket list!
