Welcome back to our DIY/Craft Link Up Party! Thank you for stopping by every week!
Time for some weekly recap photos:
(Left) Started our week with some Krispy Kreme donuts- and LOOK, its an Adult Coloring Book box! (Right) Nathan had a ‘Bring Your Friend’ to karate day and he brought his sister! Autumn just LOVED it. She also got paired with her bro-bro!
(Left) Nathan made it into the Geography Bee at school, they select two kids from each class, grades 5th-8th. An 8th grader won, of course! Nathan was the fourth one out (out of 10 kids). (Right) Autumn wanted to get a Best Friend necklace with me and I couldn’t say no! Aww, I hope I am always her best friend!
And, the BIGGEST event of the week…
Ok, not the best photo of me (no time, no makeup.) and can you see what’s different? Can you? Look closely… I’m wearing INVISALIGN! Yep. Its not very noticeable is it? I have little ‘buttons’ on every single one of my lower teeth and a lot of my upper teeth (except my two front teeth, thank goodness) and I also have the trays in.
Unfortunately, I had THREE dentist visits this week (one next week and I’m done till the end of March) and the Invisalign was extremely (as in give me all the Advil) painful the first day. It was also extremely scratchy… I just wasn’t used to having those buttons on my teeth or the trays in and my tongue wouldn’t stop feeling them up! Not good!
Also… I can only have the trays out for TWO HOURS A DAY! Yes… so. Should I call it the Invisalign diet?! I have been taking the trays out only three time a day (you have to brush AND floss before putting them back in) and enjoying 45 minutes for each meal. I can’t drink anything except cold water while they are in… no sipping on hot tea or wine… No snacking, because it just isn’t worth it to take the trays out, brush, floss and put them back in. Plus, I had a really hard time getting them in and out the first couple of days. IT IS AN ADJUSTMENT PEOPLE. I did venture to IHOP with the family, removed the trays as soon as the food arrived (yes, I went to the bathroom) and then put them back in when we got home. A total of 50 minutes, not bad.
You know what? I am on Day 6 and I feel pressure, but it isn’t as bad as Day 1 and 2. And, I’m a pro at getting these trays in and out. And, well… the 2 hours a day of freedom to eat and drink, I’m getting used to it. Am I excited for a perfect smile, whitening and veneers on my now bonded teeth that I chipped when I was a kiddo? YES, YES, YES! It will take some time to get through all this, but I can do it! Plus, my dentist and his office are the BEST.
Unfortunately, though… I start a new tray every two weeks and the first couple of days with each tray is going to be rough. I plan to put the new tray in before bed and I hope when I wake in the morning it isn’t too bad. We’ll see!!
