On our second day, we went to the Magic Kingdom! Nathan went to the Pirates League upon entering and Autumn had her hair, makeup and nail appointment in Cinderella’s Castle at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (BBB). The morning was a little stressful, because it took us almost 45 minutes to get on the Magic Kingdom bus from our hotel. The Beach Club is GREAT for Epcot (short walk), Hollywood Studios (boat) and the Animal Kingdom bus wasn’t as crowded… but, since the Magic Kingdom bus stops at other hotels before The Beach Club, it is rather full of people once it arrives! As in… 10 people from Beach Club could fit on the bus at a time! Not cool! We were 15 minutes late for her hair appointment, but the folks at BBB didn’t care at all and acted like they expected late arrivals… so, we were ok!! Now, coming back from the Magic Kingdom to our hotel was a piece of cake, we were able to walk on the first bus (which was waiting for us) and we left right after the fireworks at 9:00 p.m. This was my only complaint about the Beach Club (besides the fact that Animal Kingdom Lodge had Mickey Waffles at breakfast and Beach Club didn’t) is that their Magic Kingdom bus service SUCKS! I read about similar complaints on TripAdvisor about this and I thought that 45 minutes would have been enough time… WRONG. I would totally stay at Beach Club again, but we will just factor in more time for the bus on our Magic Kingdom day.

The BBB is a full service salon at the Magic Kingdom (they also have one at Downtown Disney) for your little princess. They get to select from several hair styles and Autumn selected the same hairstyle as she did 2 years ago (see post HERE), because she loves the tiara and Mickey clip you get with it. Unfortunately, we had BIG tears after the trip, because we accidentally left them in our hotel room and they didn’t come home with us. She was wrapping things in Kleenex and putting them on the table by her sleeper sofa and I think it either landed up in the trash somehow or it fell behind the curtains and we didn’t see it when we packed up to leave. 🙁
She got the full works… hair, nails and makeup! Even a sprinkling of fairy dust! They offered to sprinkle some fairy dust on me, but I declined… 🙂
They had a new polish there this year, a gold glitter! She also got to keep two other bottles of polish (3 total!)- the other two were a pale pink and a baby blue.
All done!!! Isn’t she beautiful? I just treasure special moments like this with her. She won’t be little forever. Although, there were some pre-teens in there getting their hair done.
Back view! They do professional photos in another room and I thought about them, but we forgot to bring her princess heels and I didn’t want to buy another pair of shoes nor did I want her tennis shoes in the photos. I think maybe in 2 years when we do our next Disney trip, I may consider doing the professional photos when she’s 8. She will probably be more cooperative (I hope!) by then with photos, too!

Nathan did the Pirate’s League with Brian and had a great time, too! He always goes for the face full of makeup, too. It is always fun to remove when we get back to the hotel at night. 😉 I can hardly recognize him when he’s a pirate! I loved getting a photo of the two together!

Autumn wanted to ride the carousel, so that is what we did while the boys went to go ride another rollercoaster. They rode Seven Dwarves Mine Train, the Rocky Mountain one and Space Mountain.
Next up was our fast pass with Enchanted Tales with Belle! We wanted to do this two years ago, but the times were crazy without a Fast Pass! Oddly, this year… we probably could have gotten in easily without a Fast Pass. Sigh. It was so worth it!! They let some of the kids have parts and since Autumn was dressed up in her Frozen dress, they let her be the icy window that went “Bhhhrrrr!”.
Belle was SO pretty. You can probably see it in this photo, but Autumn was a little nervous 🙂
They let all of the kids get their photos with Belle afterwards and they got a card with her photo and autograph on it. We will probably tape this into Autumn’s autograph book.
Next was lunch at the Be Our Guest castle. We had dinner at BOG last time and lunch was a little bit of a different experience. Instead of having a waiter or waitress, you ordered your meal on machines and then they would come by with your food on a cart. You also got your own drinks. The Beast was not available at lunch. Even though we would have liked to have a waiter/waitress, the food was still really good and we had an enjoyable lunch.
I ordered the Braised Pork (Coq Au Vin Style) and it was one of the best meals I had at Disney. SO good. And, you can’t beat their cupcakes… I got the lemon meringue cupcake and Brian got the strawberry cream cheese cupcake. SUCH a good lunch!

Later in the day we got our family photo in front of Cinderella’s Castle! I asked a guy that didn’t speak English to take our photo… thankfully, he knew what I wanted and we got a great family photo!
And, I always have to get a photo of the balloons, even though I always tell my kids no 🙂 There is just no way we can carry a balloon around with us and everything else… plus, we can’t take it home on the plane with us.
Next up was the Dumbo ride. I remember riding this as a kid 🙂 LOVE this ride!
And, I had my FIRST Dole Whip Float at Aloha Isle. I can’t believe I’ve been to the Magic Kingdom seven times and I’ve never had one of these. They are THE BEST!!!!
Next was dinner in Cinderella’s Castle! I didn’t get a photo of Autumn with Cinderella when we first walked in and we didn’t get that Disney photo package… but, that’s ok!
Here is how excited Autumn was while we were eating and waiting for the princesses to come out. She could hardly sit still!
This was my appetizer… ALL mine! Brian got his own, too! I love cheese plates!
My main entree was steak with mashed potatoes and tomatoes underneath and it was topped with shrimp. It was really good! I didn’t get a photo of my dessert, but I didn’t like it… it was chocolate with nuts in it and I think it had ice cream on top. I usually don’t turn down chocolate and ice cream, but I was already stuffed and the cake was a little dry. I would not recommend it.

After dinner, Autumn had a very special treat! A fast pass to see Elsa and Anna! Not everyone can get a fast pass to see them and we got one VERY late (7:30 p.m. was the first time available on the FIRST day we could pick our Fast Passes!), so we avoided having to wait in the very long line! It was one of the highlights of the ENTIRE Disney trip and Elsa did not rush her and took her time and chatted with her. It was SO special!
You can see just how nervous and excited she is here! I almost thought we were going to be in trouble, because the girl before Autumn almost pulled on Elsa’s braid! Can you imagine if she would have pulled it off? Elsa was pretty on top of it (they must be prepared for that stuff) and grabbed the girls hand right away before it got ahold of her braid! WHEW!!!!!
Oh, and people are crazy about Elsa. We had a family in front of us with TWO girls and two moms. First they did a group photo, then one with the girls together, then one with each girl separate from Elsa, then the two moms together, then one mom with each girl and then the moms separate with Elsa. SERIOUSLY! It was exhausting just watching… Elsa was sweet the entire time! lol! What a long day she has!
Oh, and Anna… she was quirky, goofy and fun… oh, and looking for chocolate! And, I want her boots!
There was a gift shop outside where we saw Elsa and Anna with a display of Minnie Mouse dressed up in an Elsa dress. Of course, it was a perfect photo stop!
We stayed until 9:00 p.m. for the lights parade and fireworks. I sort of have a love/hate relationship with it… the kids are ALWAYS way too tired for it and I feel like none of us enjoy it due to that. Autumn cried the ENTIRE time during the fireworks. Two years ago when Nathan was her age, he cried the entire time and she somehow slept through it in the stroller. A kid hit her in the head with his shoe accidentally when his dad picked him up (you are packed in there like sardines) and she started crying even harder. They thought she started crying because of this, but I reassured them she was already crying. It was so crowded we couldn’t even leave at that point. Yeah, FUN times. Nathan is 9 and he was fine, just tired… Will we try again in 2 years when we do our next trip? Probably. Seeing Frozen on the castle was pretty awesome, but… I was holding a crying girl the entire time, so it was also a pretty miserable time, too. 🙁 The rest of our day was AWESOME, though. Our kids normally go to bed at 8:30 p.m. at the latest, so any minute after that… they are ZOMBIES.
